Templar Class Overview

The Templar Class is an extremely powerful way to play in The Elder Scrolls Online. Templars have powerful Class Skill lines great for DPS, Healing, Tanking and playing Solo. Templars are a great choice for any build due to their many great damage and defensive options.

Best Magicka Templar Leveling Sets

Our main set on this build is Spinner’s Garments, and easy to obtain item set from the base game which boosts Magicka and Offensive Penetration, helping our skills do more damage. Remember, more damage on the Magicka Templar provides extra healing when using Puncturing Sweep!

Another great set for Magicka builds which can also be obtained quite easily is Mother’s Sorrow. This set provides plenty of Critical Chance which will help our damage and healing increase substantially!

For the final two pieces of gear on this build Armor Of The Trainee is recommended for the extra Health and Magicka.

Our main 5 piece set on this build is Winter’s Respite, a light armor set from the Greymoor Chapter. We get great bonuses for max magicka and magicka recovery from this set as well as a free heal anytime we add an effect to the ground, which Templars do a lot!

For the second set on this build, I recommend Crafty Alfiq for the huge boost to magicka. Remember that your magicka pool increases both your damage AND healing while also you sustain your skills for longer, which means you are an equally effective DPS and Healer build using this setup.

For the final two pieces of gear on this build Armor Of The Trainee is recommended for the extra Health and Magicka.

Alternate Magicka Templar Leveling Sets

If you are looking to upgrade this build and have access to DLC’s then there are some additional item sets which are even more powerful. One of these is Winter’s Respite, a light armor set from the Greymoor Chapter. Most of our skills cost Magicka to cast, so putting all Attribute Points into Magicka will be the most effective.

Magicka Templar Leveling Build Race

Breton will be a great choice for this build, as Templar class skills can be quite expensive, and the Breton’s extra cost reduction can be very helpful for newer players. If you are more experienced or want to focus purely on damage, than High Elf, Dark Elf, and Khajiit are all good options. Magicka Templar Leveling Build Mundus Stone

The best Mundus Stone for leveling in the Elder Scrolls Online is the Lover Mundus because this increases your Offensive Penetration, allowing all of your skills to do more damage. Offensive Penetration can usually only be obtained through Light Armor Passives and rarely on gear sets, so boosting this stat early through your Mundus Stone will make the biggest impact, helping you kill enemies faster and thus level up faster! Witchmother’s Potent Brew is the best food or drink buff available when leveling up a Magicka build in ESO because it provides Maximum Magicka which boosts your Damage, Magicka Recovery which helps you sustain your skills and Maximum Health which improves your survivability. This drink scales with your level and can be crafted or purchased from Guild Traders.

1. Puncturing Sweep: your main DPS skill that does AOE damage in front of you while also healing you for a percentage of the damage done. Make sure to group enemies together to get maximum benefit.
2. Living Dark: use this Dawn’s Wrath skill for extra healing while taking damage when overwhelmed by multiple enemies at once.
3. Inner Light: provides bonus Max Magicka and a buff for your Critical Chance stat.
4. Blazing Spear: AOE damage over time skill that can be thrown as combat starts.
5. Elemental Drain: debuff a single enemy with the powerful Major Breach debuff, reducing their armor and increasing their damage taken from your skill.
6. ULT: Solar Disturbance: save this ultimate for difficult encounters where you need to debuff enemies to deal less damage with Major Maim.
