Dragonknight Class Overview
The Dragonknight Class is an extremely powerful way to play in The Elder Scrolls Online. Dragonknights have many similarities with other classes in ESO such as dedicated Class Skill lines for DPS, for Healing, and for Tanking. Dragonknights are known for their sturdy nature as melee combat specialists but also have many powerful magic abilities. For a more detailed guide be sure to review our ESO Dragonknight Class Guide.
Solo Stamina Dragonknight Primary Sets
Our primary set for this build is Order’s Wrath, a powerful crafted set with bonuses to Critical Chance and Critical Damage. This gives us a strong baseline bonus to all of our damaging skills whether they be DOT or direct damage.
Next, we want a proc set that can go into effect while we are on our backbar, freeing up additional gear spaces. Briarheart is an excellent choice for this as its effect gives us bonus damage and passive healing – great for solo builds!
Zaan will be the ideal monster set for this build, giving us another source of Fire Damage and also boosting our Critical Chance.
Finally, with our extra slots we can run a mythic such as the Ring Of The Pale Order which is outstanding for solo content, giving us a huge flood of self-healing. Combine this with a heavy Armor of the Trainee chest for even more protection and you have an insanely powerful build!

Solo Stamina Dragonknight Alternate Sets
Hexos Ward is a fantastic Medium Armor set for any Solo Build in ESO due to its powerful damage shield proc. Use this as an alternate set if you need more passive shielding and protection (great for beginners).
Another good medium armor option that fits the fire theme of this build would be Shadow Of The Red Mountain.
Both of these are overland sets so they are fairly easy to obtain.
Burning Spellwave also fits the theme of this build quite well and gives us a huge buff to weapon damage as well as some extra DOT damage and sustain via the Burning Status Effect.
Finally, you can consider Grothdar as a monster set if you’d like an easier option to get that doesn’t require a DLC dungeon.

(3 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage

Solo Stamina Dragonknight Skills Explanation
- Flame Lash: This ability provides huge damage and healing once you activate Power Lash. Requires an enemy to be off-balance (use Dizzy Swing for this).
- Brawler or Carve: Use Carve for stronger DPS thanks to its powerful DOT, or use Brawler for better defense.
- Disintegrating Dragonfire: Massive AOE DOT and armor reduction thanks to Major Breach debuff.
- Dizzying Swing: Your main single-target DPS skill. Use this to set enemies off-balance easily and proc Flame Lash when you have extra magicka.
- Burning Embers: strong single-target DOT and heal. Can be recast early for a quick burst heal if needed.
- Stampede: use this to set up AOE damage over time on your backbar, while also proccing your backbar enchant for extra weapon and spell damage.
- Incinerate: This is a useful AOE flame damage spell which also buffs our Critical Chance passively.
- Barbed Trap: a powerful single-target DOT which also gives us Minor Force, increasing our Critical Damage.
- Molten Armaments: You must maintain this buff to increase your Weapon Damage and Spell Damage at all times.
- Earthshield Mantle: Your main armor buff which increases your defenses and provides a small damage shield.
- Temporal Guard: This is a passive ultimate which grants Minor Protection, increasing your defense.
- Take Flight: Take Flight is your best offensive ultimate with a small ultimate cost, big damage, and scales your overall damage higher. Use this to maximize your DPS in easier content.
- Ferocious Leap: A better defensive ultimate pick. This still deals AOE damage but also creates a massive damage shield which is helpful in protecting your healthbar in more challenging content.

Companions

If you like playing Solo, this build can benefit greatly from using Companions! This Solo build will benefit the most from the additional healing and buff options a healer-focused Companion can offer, so if you are going to use a Companion I would suggest a full healer build for them. I recommend Mirri Elendis for Companion on this build with the setup below. More information on Companions Builds and Skills can be found in our detailed Companion Guides section.
