Dragonknight Class Overview
The Dragonknight Class is an extremely powerful way to play in The Elder Scrolls Online. Dragonknights have many similarities with other classes in ESO such as dedicated Class Skill lines for DPS, for Healing, and for Tanking. Dragonknights are known for their sturdy nature as melee combat specialists but also have many powerful magic abilities. For a more detailed guide be sure to review our ESO Dragonknight Class Guide.
When it comes to Healing, typically DK are not chosen. However, with Subclassing, you can grab other important skill lines from different classes and compliment to DK. Therefore, consider using this build and class if you enjoy it in PvE content.
Dragonknight Healer Build Primary Sets
Our primary healing set on this build, Perfected Vestment of Olorime, found in the Veteran Cloudrest Trial, is a must-have to give massive damage buffs to your allies by granting Major Courage. You can grant this buff by applying a ground area of effect skill while in combat to anyone who is standing in the ability.
Next, Inventor’s Guard, found in the Halls of Fabrications Trial, is a powerful healing set that grants Major Aegis for all group members for a maximum of 50 seconds, which is just enough time to get this buff back on everyone again by using an ultimate. Major Aegis is a huge buff that decreases the amount of damage you take from Dungeon, Trial, and Arena monsters by 10%.
Force Overflow is a 2-piece set found in Vateshran Hollows, that also has a perfected version to add extra Magicka, excellent for healers. Casting Force Siphon on an enemy restores resources to you and anyone standing on the effect that it gives.
Lastly, Nazaray is one of the best support monster sets currently. That’s because it puts all Major and Minor debuffs on enemies closest to you whenever you use an ultimate ability. Make sure to use your ultimate at the right time to maximize its potential. It lasts for a maximum of 25 seconds with a downtime of 5 seconds, so you can easily reapply it whenever you get your ultimate back.

Best Dragonknight Healer Attributes
The most important attribute for a Dragonknight Healer is Magicka. Players want to stack as much magicka as possible to help with the power of your spells, increase size of damage shield, and gives you more resources until you run out of magicka. Most players should be at least 18,000 health if not 22,000 health in Veteran Dungeons or Trials. Therefore, you may need to adjust attributes or a health glyph as you progress and do more hardcore PvE content. Until then, use 64 attributes into magicka, 0 for health, and 0 for stamina.
64 Magicka
0 Health
0 Stamina
Best Dragonknight Healer Race
The best race for this build will be Dark Elf, with their great passives for Magicka and Stamina as well as Spell Damage. Argonian which will increase your raw healing done by a further 6%, your Maximum Health, and Maximum Magicka is another fantastic option as is Khajiit due to their increased Critical Healing.
For more details on all ESO Races and passive bonuses be sure to check out our Full ESO Race Guide.
Best Dragonknight Healer Mundus
The best Mundus Stone for a healer is the Thief due to the increase in critical chance. This helps you in all aspects of gameplay including damage! Some other choices are below:
- Atronach: increase magicka recovery per. Use this if you still struggle with resource sustain.
- Ritual: increase healing effectiveness. Can use if you’re purely healing doing no damage.
- Mage: increases your max magicka pool. Use this if an item set scales off of max magicka.

Increases the Critical Strike rating by 1333
With 7 Divines armor pieces
Increases the Critical Strike rating by 2167
Best Dragonknight Healer Food & Drink Buff
The best consumable buff for the Dragonknight Healer build is Clockwork Citrus Filet. This buff grants max health, health recovery, max magicka, and magicka recovery. It gives you everything you need to resource sustain with extra health for survival. An alternative is Witchmother’s Potent Brew. This is a cheaper and easy to find on Guild Traders version of Clockwork Citrus Filet. Not as powerful, but affordable!

Clockwork Citrus Filet
Increase Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406, Max Magicka by 3080 and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours.
Ingredients: Red Meat, Lemon, Frost Mirriam, Perfect Roe

Witchmother’s potent brew
Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
These effects are scaled based on your level.
Ingredients: Nightshade, Bervez Juice, Rice, Small Game
Best Dragonknight Healer Potions
The best potions for the Dragonknight Healer build are Spell Power Potions. These potions grant you spell power, and spell critical buff. That helps free up skills on your bar and consume potions on cooldown to keep 100% uptime on these buffs. With the Medicinal Use passive in the alchemy skill tree, you can increase the duration of your potions effects. Essentially, the duration last 47.5 seconds with a cooldown of 45 seconds. Therefore, this passive becomes critical to obtain to keep higher uptime on buffs.

Dragonknight Healer Skill Explanation
Front Bar Weapon – Restoration Staff
- Combat Prayer: buffs everyone it touches with minor berserk and minor resolve, position behind party to ensure you reach every.
- Fragmented Shield: Low cost group damage shield that also provides Major Mending, increasing all of your healing done by 16% for 6 seconds.
- Radiating Regeneration: healing over time, 5 seconds, can spam pre-pull to apply to multiple targets.
- Cauterize: while not exactly a burst heal, this can heal multiple targets, and when it crits, does a high amount of healing. Keep this up at all times so that you don’t fall behind.
- Protect The Brood: Niche skill that can be used to significantly lower damage taken from projectiles by 50% for you and 25% for the group. Reserve this for specific fights where you will take a lot of projectile damage.
- ULT: Magma Shell: your defensive ultimate that gives nearby allies a damage shield as well.
Back Bar Weapon – Restoration Staff
- Volcanic Ward: strong, single-target damage shield that reduces the damage of the next attack and heals. Use this versus hard hitting enemies once your heal over times are active.
- Siphon Spirit: casting on target triggers minor magickasteal and minor lifesteal, healing and giving resources to anyone attacking target.
- Energy Orb: a floating ball that heals allies as it travels through them and they can trigger synergy for more healing and resource sustain.
- Fire Keeper: AOE heal over time ability that heals every 1 second. Can add up to quite a lot of healing and heals for more when standing in the area, plus also provides Minor Fortitude and Minor Heroism for the entire group.
- Illustrious Healing: ground based AOE heal that you want to place on healer and or DPS in a large circle.
- ULT: Aggressive Horn: burst team ultimate, boost max stats and grants 20% more critical damage for 10 seconds.
Dragonknight Healer Skills Discussion & Rotation
Buffs
Your primary focus is to debuff the enemy and buff your group members by either increasing their resistances or damage done. You would enable these by using your ultimate as much as you can but always wait for 500 ultimate charge to ensure the maximum amount of time on those buffs and debuffs. As long as you use your abilities to the fullest by reapplying them once they run out you cannot go wrong.
Rotation
Backup Bar: Illustrious Healing -> Fire Keeper -> Siphon Spirit
Main Bar: Combat Prayer -> Cauterize -> Radiating Regeneration -> Fragmented Shield
Use your Magma Shell ultimate for fights that are chaotic, if group members keep dying, or if a vital part of the group dies, like a tank. Protect The Brood and Volcanic Ward can be used as additional defensive tools when needed.
The Aggressive Horn ultimate should be reserved for a more controlled fight to amplify your group’s damage even further. Cast Energy Orb if anyone asks for resources, most commonly the tank.
Notes
This is a great healing build but requires a lot of ultimate gain. There aren’t any decisive traits to help that because you need to debuff your enemy with status effects more. And you’ll also need all that Spell Damage to increase your healing as much as possible.
