Templar Class Overview
The Templar Class is an extremely powerful way to play in The Elder Scrolls Online. Templars have powerful Class Skill lines great for DPS, Healing, Tanking, and playing Solo. Templars are a great choice for any build due to their many great damage and defensive options.
Templar is a common choice for healing because of it’s innate healing skill line. Templar’s make a great choice for healing as a beginner or Veteran alike.
For a more detailed guide, be sure to review our ESO Templar Class Guide located here.
Templar Healer Build Primary Sets
First, the Perfected Vestment of Olorime, found in the Veteran Cloudrest Trial, is a must-have to give massive damage buffs to your allies by granting Major Courage. This effect can last for 20 seconds, and since it can occur once every 10 seconds, it doesn’t have any downtime. You can grant this buff by applying a ground area of effect skill while in combat to anyone who is standing in the ability. Since the Templar uses a lot of area-of-effect abilities, the set will complement this build perfectly.
Next, Jorvuld’s Guidance, found in Scalecaller Peak Dungeon, grants an uptime of buffs and damage shields by 40% which is a huge utility option for healers. If you plan on playing healing or support builds at all in The Elder Scrolls Online, you need to get this set!
For our Monster Set, Sentinel Of Rkugamz provides a great flat buff to your healing with just one piece and also heals and gives resources back for a full set. This is arguably the best monster set that to be had for healers in the base game.
Lastly, Timeless Blessing, found in Asylum Sanctorium, is a 2-piece set that reduces the cost of your healing abilities by 21% when using the ability Blessing of Protection and any of its morphs. If possible, a Perfected version will increase your Maximum Magicka even further which improves your healing.

This combines well with Hollowfang Thirst from Moongrave Fane which will restore Magicka and Minor Vitality to allies, increasing their healing received by 8%.

Best Templar Healer Attributes
The most important attribute for a Templar Healer is Magicka. Players want to stack as much magicka as possible to help with the power of your spells, increase size of damage shield, and gives you more resources until you run out of magicka. Most players should be at least 18,000 health if not 22,000 health in Veteran Dungeons or Trials. Therefore, you may need to adjust attributes or a health glyph as you progress and do more hardcore PvE content. Until then, use 64 attributes into magicka, 0 for health, and 0 for stamina.
64 Magicka
0 Health
0 Stamina
Best Templar Healer Race
Many healers run into the same problem: not having enough Magicka or Magicka Recovery. To help deal with these common healer issues, Breton makes the most sense. Breton Passives will reduce the cost of our healing skills and increase Magicka Recovery making this Race the best overall choice. If you are more experienced and know how to tackle these problems, you can run a Khajiit to maximize critical healing or Argonian for the bonus to healing done.
In optimized trial groups, you will have a lot of buffs greatly increasing your Weapon and Spell damage, making Dark Elf and High Elf the best races for healing.
For more details on all ESO Races and passive bonuses be sure to check out our Full ESO Race Guide.
Best Templar Healer Mundus
The best Mundus Stone for a healer is the Apprentice due to the increase in Spell Damage. This helps with your overall healing power and damage. Some other choices are below:
- Atronach: increase magicka recovery per. Use this if you still struggle with resource sustain.
- Ritual: increase healing effectiveness. Can use if you’re purely healing doing no damage.
- Thief: increases your critical strike chance. This can be used if you want damage and healing bonus
- Mage: increases your max magicka pool. Use this if an item set scales off of max magicka.
Best Templar Healer Food & Drink Buff
The best consumable buff for the Templar Healer build is Clockwork Citrus Filet. This buff grants max health, health recovery, max magicka, and magicka recovery. It gives you everything you need to resource sustain with extra health for survival. An alternative is Witchmother’s Potent Brew. This is a cheaper and easy to find on Guild Traders version of Clockwork Citrus Filet. Not as powerful, but affordable!

Clockwork Citrus Filet
Increase Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406, Max Magicka by 3080 and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours.
Ingredients: Red Meat, Lemon, Frost Mirriam, Perfect Roe

Witchmother’s potent brew
Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
These effects are scaled based on your level.
Ingredients: Nightshade, Bervez Juice, Rice, Small Game
Best Templar Healer Potions
The best potions for the Templar Healer build are Spell Power Potions. These potions grant you spell power, and spell critical buff. That helps free up skills on your bar and consume potions on cooldown to keep 100% uptime on these buffs. With the Medicinal Use passive in the alchemy skill tree, you can increase the duration of your potions effects. Essentially, the duration last 47.5 seconds with a cooldown of 45 seconds. Therefore, this passive becomes critical to obtain to keep higher uptime on buffs.

Templar Healer Skills Discussion & Rotation
Buffs: Your primary focus on this build is to make sure everyone in your group stays alive with direct and area heals. Make sure you reapply buffs as well once the timers run out. Focus on enabling the Vestment of Olorime set at all times by setting down your Illustrious Healing.
Rotation: Backup Bar: Elemental Drain -> Elemental Blockade -> Extended Ritual -> Channeled Focus. Reapply after expiring.
Main Bar Purifying Light -> Radiating Regeneration -> Illustrious Healing -> Combat Prayer -> Illustrious Healing after it expires
Use Breath of Life actively on any target that is low on health, then use Luminous Shard on anyone asking for resources.
Notes: Make sure you announce using the Light’s Champion Ultimate because this gives a massive buff, Major Force, which increases your group member’s critical damage by a further 10%. All other support roles might use Warhorn. This skill gives off the same buff and renders the second cast Ult useless.

ESO Templar Healer Class Mastery
Players that reach level 50 in ESO while also fully reaching Rank 50 for their class skill lines and not subclassing can use 2 Class Mastery passives to improve their build. For the Templar Healer I recommend Bright Harbinger which increases the Weapon and Spell Damage you give to allies and Bastion of Light which helps you generate Ultimate faster.

Bright Harbinger
Light’s banner instills hope. You are its bearer.
Effect
Upgrades rank 2 of Illuminate to also grant Bright Harbinger for the duration, which grants 300 Weapon and Spell Damage to allies and doubles for you.

Bastion of Light
Light consecrates the ground on which you tread.
Effect
Sacred Ground is now applied while you are in your own Nova and Spear Shards, and while Radial Sweep and Solar Barrage are active. While Sacred Ground is active, you heal for 2096 Health every 1 second. If you are at full Health after being healed from this effect while in combat, you also gain 2 Ultimate.
