Warden Class Overview
The Warden is the perfect class to create a healer build. Their active and passive skills are suited for healing especially with added frost damage. The Warden is not a base game class and requires the Morrowind DLC. Once obtained, you want to work on the Green Balance and Winter’s Embrace skill lines. While difficult to master, the class is one of the best healers and always used it serious trials at end game.
Warden Healer Primary Sets
First, Perfected Roaring Opportunist, found in the Kyne’s Aegis Trial, is the strongest healer set in ESO currently. This set activates by heavy attacking while in combat to give 5 group members the Major Slayer buff. It doesn’t have any healing properties to increase the amount of healing, however, as a healer and a support role it is your job to give out any major or minor buffs that will increase the amount of damage that your DPS can do. In this case it increases the amount of damage to Dungeon, Trial, and Arena monsters by a whopping 10%.
Next, the Jorvuld’s Guidance set, found in Scalecaller Peak Dungeon, will compliment this build incredibly well by giving all buffs and damage shields an increased uptime of 40%, which is a huge utility option for healers! This even buffs Roaring Opportunist, meaning you don’t need to heavy attack as often. You can pair this set with any other set or skill that applies any buff so it’s a fantastic healer set.
Grand Rejuvenation is a 2-piece set found in Dragonstar Arena that also has a perfected version to add extra Magicka, which is always nice for healers. Every time you cast Grand Healing or any of its morphs (found under the restoration skill line) this staff invigorates you and group members by restoring Magicka and Stamina.
Finally, Symphony Of Blades is the recommended monster set for this build. It restores Magicka and Stamina every 1 second for 6 seconds once you heal someone who is below 50% primary resources.

Warden Healer Alternate Sets
For alternatives, and if you’re not quite ready for trials yet, you’ll want Spell Power Cure, found in White Gold Tower. Though weaker than Roaring Opportunist, it’s still valid until you can get more powerful sets from trials.
This combines well with Hollowfang Thirst from Moongrave Fane which will restore Magicka and Minor Vitality to allies, increasing their healing received by 8%.

Best Warden Healer Attributes
The most important attribute for a Warden Healer is Magicka. Players want to stack as much magicka as possible to help with the power of your spells, increase size of damage shield, and gives you more resources until you run out of magicka. Most players should be at least 18,000 health if not 22,000 health in Veteran Dungeons or Trials. Therefore, you may need to adjust attributes or a health glyph as you progress and do more hardcore PvE content. Until then, use 64 attributes into magicka, 0 for health, and 0 for stamina.
64 Magicka
0 Health
0 Stamina
Best Warden Healer Race
The best race for this build will be Dark Elf, with their great passives for Magicka and Stamina as well as Spell Damage. Argonian which will increase your raw healing done by a further 6%, your Maximum Health, and Maximum Magicka is another fantastic option as is Khajiit due to their increased Critical Healing.
For more details on all ESO Races and passive bonuses be sure to check out our Full ESO Race Guide.
Best Warden Healer Mundus
The best Mundus Stone for a healer is the Thief due to the increase in critical chance. This helps you in all aspects of gameplay including damage! Some other choices are below:
- Atronach: increase magicka recovery per. Use this if you still struggle with resource sustain.
- Ritual: increase healing effectiveness. Can use if you’re purely healing doing no damage.
- Mage: increases your max magicka pool. Use this if an item set scales off of max magicka.

Increases the Critical Strike rating by 1333
With 7 Divines armor pieces
Increases the Critical Strike rating by 2167
Best Warden Healer Food & Drink Buff
The best consumable buff for the Warden Healer build is Clockwork Citrus Filet. This buff grants max health, health recovery, max magicka, and magicka recovery. It gives you everything you need to resource sustain with extra health for survival. An alternative is Witchmother’s Potent Brew. This is a cheaper and easy to find on Guild Traders version of Clockwork Citrus Filet. Not as powerful, but affordable!

Clockwork Citrus Filet
Increase Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406, Max Magicka by 3080 and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours.
Ingredients: Red Meat, Lemon, Frost Mirriam, Perfect Roe

Witchmother’s potent brew
Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
These effects are scaled based on your level.
Ingredients: Nightshade, Bervez Juice, Rice, Small Game
Best Warden Healer Potions
The best potions for the Warden Healer build are Spell Power Potions. These potions grant you spell power, and spell critical buff. That helps free up skills on your bar and consume potions on cooldown to keep 100% uptime on these buffs. With the Medicinal Use passive in the alchemy skill tree, you can increase the duration of your potions effects. Essentially, the duration last 47.5 seconds with a cooldown of 45 seconds. Therefore, this passive becomes critical to obtain to keep higher uptime on buffs.
Alternatively, this build has all the buffs required. You can use tri-potions for healing and stamina, or use heroism potions for ultimate fast ultimate generation (though pricey).

Skills Discussion & Rotation
Buffs
The entire backup skill bar is your buffs and debuffs for combat, so you’ll want to make sure you have them up as much as you can. Make sure you keep applying Growing Swarm on your front bar. This will debuff whatever you are attacking with Minor Vulnerability. Although it is a Stamina ability it can travel to other enemies if the affected enemy touches them.
Rotation
Make sure you have timers on both bars as this will help you know when you need to reapply your abilities. I recommend starting on your Backup bar, making sure that all of them are active and ready to help you heal and your group to deal as much damage as they can with your buffs.
Next, switch to you Restoration bar and heal where the majority of your group is standing using Illustrious Healing. Remember, you’re using a set that requires you to heavy attack to give your group that Major Slayer buff, so if you have ran out of abilities to apply make sure you heavy attack whenever you can.
Notes
Both Combat Prayer and Enchanted Growth requires aim so make sure you aim then use ability. Even if you use the ability and then aim it will place the ability where you used it even if the animation wasn’t finished.
