The ICE STORM Build is a Powerful One Bar set up for the Magicka Warden with impressive Damage, Speed and nearly infinite Sustain. This build will be great for leveling up or Grinding Champion Points and is extremely easy and FUN to play!
This guide has been updated for The Elder Scrolls Online Update 50.
Primary Sets
The recommended item sets for the ICE STORM Magicka Warden Build are focused on Critical Chance as well as increasing our Frost Damage.
First, the Order’s Wrath set is a fantastic new crafted set available via the High Isle Chapter that increases both our Critical Chance and Critical Damage.
Next, Frostbite is a powerful set in ESO that boosts our Frost Damage specifically, which is a perfect match for the Magicka Warden, especially with this build.
With the introduction of the High Isle chapter, an incredibly strong Mythic option is now available to support One Bar Builds in ESO. This is the Oakensoul Ring and it provides some amazing buffs for this build, making it stronger and easier than ever!
Finally, a one piece Monster Set can fill in the final slot of this build, either Slimecraw and Iceheart work great.

(1 item) While equipped, you are unable to swap between your Primary and Backup Weapon Sets and gain Minor Berserk, Minor Courage, Major Brutality, Major Sorcery, Major Prophecy, Major Savagery, Minor Force, Minor Protection, Major Resolve, Minor Fortitude, Minor Intellect, Minor Endurance, Minor Heroism, Minor Aegis, Minor Slayer and Empower.
Volcanic stone for Firesong. Gems for Eldertide. With Stonelore craftsmanship to bind them together. This ring is the Draoife Incarnate. The might of the druids, in the palm of your hand.
Iceheart
LVL 50 – CP 160

(1 item) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(2 items) When you deal Critical Damage, you have a 20% chance to gain a damage shield that absorbs 5000 damage for 6 seconds. While the damage shield holds, you deal 500 Frost Damage to all enemies within 5 meters of you every 1 second. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds.
Alternate Sets
Any offense focused set can be used on this build including New Moon Acolyte which adds a lot of extra spell damage and spell penetration or Mother’s Sorrow which adds lots of Critical Chance.

Combat Tips
The one-bar AOE setup is extremely easy to blow things up with! Simply cast Channeled Acceleration to buff then approach a group of enemies and spam Unstable Wall Of Elements. That’s it!
For a more standard DPS rotation make sure to switch to the skills listed above, then cast Subterranean Assault -> Unstable Wall Of Elements -> Growing Swarm -> Destructive Reach x3.
For both versions be sure to light attack between each ability for extra damage and use your Eternal Guardian Ultimate when ready.

Magicka Warden Class Mastery
Players that reach level 50 in ESO while also fully reaching Rank 50 for their class skill lines and not subclassing can use 2 Class Mastery passives to improve their build. For the Warden class, I recommend Wild Adaptation which increases your Weapon and Spell Damage for each status effect on your target and Glacial Obstinance which upgrades Bond with Nature to active also on Winter’s Embrace abilities and grant 15% Weapon and Spell Damage.
Wild Adaptation
The battlefield is your grove. Tend to it.
Effect
Gain 333 Weapon and Spell Damage for each status effect on your target, up to a maximum of 1665.
Glacial Obstinance
Tap into the wellspring of permafrost’s resolve.
Effect
Upgrade Bond with Nature to also activate when casting Winter’s Embrace abilities and to grant 15% Weapon and Spell Damage for 10 seconds if you are at full Health after the heal.
