An Introduction to the Beginner Stamina Necromancer
The Stamina Necromancer in The Elder Scrolls Online is a hard-hitting class that blends melee burst damage with corpse-based mechanics for sustain, crowd control, and survivability. Unlike other classes, the Stamcro thrives on raising and consuming corpses to trigger powerful passive bonuses. Your core rotation should focus on generating corpses, typically with skills like Blastbones, and then consuming them with abilities that deal damage, heal, or restore stamina. Mastering this cycle is key to unlocking the full potential of the Stamina Necromancer in both PvE and PvP.
Stamina Necromancer Beginner Build Primary Sets
The basic beginner setup includes using Armor Of The Trainee for the huge bonus to all stats as well as 5 pieces of Spriggan’s Thorns for the extra increase to our total damage output. Lastly, the crafting set Hunding’s Rage is a great way to boost overall damage and it’s craftable. Since this is a beginner build, those equipment pieces can go in any gear slot you find, including weapons – just make sure to end up with 5 pieces of each set to get the full bonuses.
Something to note about Stamina vs. Magicka Necromancer is the passives. Medium armor gives spell and weapon damage along with critical damage, but forgoes penetration. Therefore, you want to seek offensive penetration to add more damage overall to your build. 18,200 is the cap for Veteran armor in ESO.

Stamina Necromancer Beginner Build Alternate Sets
For alternatives, I also recommend sets like Venomous Smite and Eternal Vigor. Proc sets like Venomous Smite are easy to produce damage passively when dealing critical damage. Meanwhile, Eternal Vigor can help with resource sustain which is useful especially early.

Stamina Necromancer Beginner Attributes
The best attribute for a Stamina Necromancer is Stamina because it increase the effectiveness of our skills. Additionally, increased stamina can increase the size of a damage and healing spells. It’s best to pick one attribute pool and “stack” for optimal damage and resource sustain. Therefore, I recommend 64 stamina, 0 health, and 0 magicka. However, make sure you reach 18,000 health or higher, and adjust your attributes if you’re low while food is active.
0 Magicka
0 Health
64 Stamina
Stamina Necromancer Beginner Race
The most common choice for meta end game is Dark Elf because of the spell and weapon damage and two resource pools. Khajiit is great for critical damage, but is weaker in high-end PvE content. Meanwhile, the Orc and Redguard are two great choices for better resource sustain. Here are thoughts on the best stamina based beginner races:
- Dark Elf: best overall for end game PvE DPS
- Orc: best for end game PvP content and decent in PvE
- Imperial: high stats and it lowers cost of skills
- Redguard: best for resource sustain, though weaker damage
- Khajiit: highest burst damage
- Nord: most survivable race for stamina beginners

Stamina Necromancer Beginner Mundus
The best mundus stone for a stamina necromancer build is the Lover due to Physical Penetration. Unlike light armor builds that favor magicka skills, medium armor lacks offensive penetration. Therefore, this is the best stat for a beginner or playing solo. As you start to play in group PvE content, swap to the Thief especially with coordinated tanks and healers. The cap for Veteran enemies is 18,200, if you go over that, the stats are wasted. Lastly, use the Serpent if you constantly run out of resources as it helps with stamina regeneration.

The Lover
Increases Physical and Spell Penetration by 2744
With 7 Divines armor pieces
Increases Physical and Spell Penetration by 4489
Stamina Necromancer Beginner Food & Drink
The best drink, food, consumable for the stamina Necromancer is Dubious Camoran Throne because it gives stats across the board. This drink is easy to get from vendors and increases your max stamina, health, and grants stamina recovery. As a new player, you desperately need resource sustain as well as damage, which is why this is selected. Later as you advance, other food is used like “bi-stat” which forgoes stamina recovery for higher max stats. But, this comes with a big downside and that is weak sustain and not recommended right away. Buy these from guild traders until you can craft with provisioning.

Dubious Camoran Throne
Increase Stamina Recovery by 315, Max Stamina by 2856 and Max Health by 3094 for 2 hours.
These effects are scaled based on your level.
A dessert cocktail of jagga, rotmeth, and sweetbread puree. Definitely Green Pact compliant.
Stamina Necromancer Beginner Potions
The best Stamina potions for the Stamina Necromancer are the base potions that give you Stamina recovery. The recover, with medicinal use passive from alchemy, can run 47.5 seconds. With potion cooldown only last 45 seconds, you can maintain 100% up time on an additional 20% recovery. As you advance, tri-potions (all three stats), spell power potions (buffs and recovery), or even heroism potions (ultimate generation buff) can be used. However, consider using these right now depending on your level and don’t be shy about drinking them.

Stamina Necromancer Beginner Rotation
When it comes to your rotation, remember that it’s situational. Always focus on surviving > staying out of red > then damage. Pre-buff before the fight starts in order to save on cooldowns which each skill cost one second GCD.
Rotation: Start by applying DOTs at range and buffs, Rally, Beckoning Armor, Spirit Guardian. Then use Endless Hail as you close the distance and bar swap. Cast Blastbones once immediately, then once or more Brawlers to get another DOT. Then, do Dizzying Swing 1-2x until Blastbone hits. Then recast Blastbones.
From this point, go into prority mode:
- Blastbones
- Endless Hail
- Rally
- Survival Skills as Needed
- Use Dizzy Swings if everything else good
Stamina Necromancer Class Mastery
Players that reach level 50 in ESO while also fully reaching Rank 50 for their class skill lines and not subclassing can use 2 Class Mastery passives to improve their build. For the Necromancer class I recommend Nothing Wasted for the increased Max Health and Weapon and Spell Damage along with Cycle Unending for up to 25% bonus damage versus monsters (or 10% versus players).

Nothing Wasted
As an abattoir of death, no remnants of life are wasted.
Effect
Upgrades rank 2 of Corpse Consumption to also grant you a stack of Nothing Wasted for 15 seconds, which increases your Max Health by 2% and Weapon and Spell Damage by 2% per stack, up to 10 times. Stacks decay three at a time instead of all at once.

Cycle Unending
The cycle of life and death continues: you will live, others will die.
Effect
Upgrades rank 2 of Reusable Parts to grant Cycle Unending for 25 seconds, increasing the potency of your damage done by 1% for every 1% Health you have more than your target. The damage bonus caps at 25%, or 10% against players.
