This build has been updated for The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) Update 50.
Best Werewolf Solo Sets
Tide-Born Wildstalker is an excellent set now for Werewolves, amplifying both of our primary damage abilities which deal direct damage. This set is also crafted, making it easy to create the exact weights and traits that you need, or simply buy it from guild traders.
Next, Order’s Wrath is another powerful crafted set in ESO that increases both your Critical Chance and Critical Damage – two important stats for any Werewolf build! Keep in mind, with crafted sets you should try to run one heavy armor piece and one light armor piece at least to unlock the Undaunted Mettle passive.
The Ring Of The Pale Order is highly recommended for soloing more difficult content such as world bosses, veteran dungeons, or DLC areas. This incredibly powerful mythic was literally made for solo builds, and consistently heals you for tons of HP per second, especially when paired with our new channeled Claw Fury ability.
With our one remaining gear slot it’s recommened to use a one-piece Monster Set for an additional bonus. Slimecraw or any other Critical Chance set is recommended here.

Alternate Werewolf Solo Sets
Another set that many players have and also do well on this build is the Deadly Strike set. Deadly Strike works well if you plan on primarily using the new Claw Fury attack from the reworked Werewolf skill line, which counts as a channeled ability. Therefore, Deadly Strike will also buff the majority of damage on this build. Keep Tide-Born if possible as a primary set, but Deadly Strike can easily replace Order’s Wrath here.
For alternate 5-piece sets, Pillar Of Nirn can be quite strong for damage if you are able to control the proc and keep it triggered on enemies.

Deadly Strike
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(3 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage

(5 items) When you deal damage, you create a fissure underneath the enemy after 1 second, dealing 623 Bleed Damage to all enemies within 2.5 meters and causing them to bleed for an additional 3132 Bleed Damage over 10 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.

Best Werewolf Class
Sorcerer is often the preferred class for Werewolf builds in ESO due to their increased Physical Damage and cost reduction for skills and ultimates. The cost reduction from the Power Stone passive specifically should not be overlooked, because your Werewolf transformation now drains 100 Ultimate every 10 seconds just to stay in Werewolf form. Power Stone reduces that cost to just 85 Ultimate, saving you 15 Ultimate every time 10 seconds. Over the course of just one minute, that saves you 90 Ultimate, essentially giving you an extra 10 seconds of Transformation.
While some classes such as the Warden or Nightblade may be able to produce higher damage via their class masteries, I still recommend choosing the Sorcerer for the majority of players thanks to the extra transformation time, and unique sustain bonuses.
Best Class Mastery Passives
The best class mastery passives for the Solo Werewolf build are Conservation of Energy and Static Reverberation, giving you improved sustain and damage, which both work while in Werewolf form.

Conservation of Energy
Spellcasting is second nature to you. A skill honed by tireless study.
Effect
Upgrades rank 2 of Blood Magic to work with all abilities with a cost, excluding cost per tick abilities, and restores 400 Magicka and 400 Stamina when it activates. This effect scales off your Max Magicka and Stamina.

Static Reverberation
The battlefield crackles with untapped potential. Make use of it.
Effect
When you deal damage, you have a 5% chance to deal 747 Shock Damage, up to once every 0.3 seconds.
The chance increases by 1% for every 1% missing Health the target has. The chance is divided by 1 plus every permanent pet you have active.
Best Werewolf Solo Race
I prefer Khajiit for this build due to their increased Critical Damage and Critical Healing, along with increased Maximum Health, Stamina, and Magicka and increased recoveries. This makes Khajiit an all-around amazing choice for any solo build in ESO.
For more details on all ESO Races and passive bonuses be sure to check out our Full ESO Race Guide.
Best Werewolf Solo Build Attributes
The Best Attribute loadout for the Solo Werewolf build is 64 Stamina. This provides the best sustain and cost reduction overall, since most of your skills cost stamina to cast. For tougher solo content I recommend splitting your resources into 32 Stamina and 32 Health, as this will allow you to take bigger hits without being killed instantly. This is helpful if soloing instanced content like Dungeons and Trials. For very difficult content, putting 64 points fully into Health is recommended.
| Stamina | Magicka | Health | |
| Normal Content | 64 Stamina | 0 Magicka | 0 Health |
| Challenging Content | 32 Stamina | 0 Magicka | 32 Health |
| Very Hard Content | 0 Stamina | 0 Magicka | 64 Health |
Best Werewolf Mundus Stone
For most Overland content, including World Bosses, Delves, Public Dungeons and questing, the Thief Mundus stone is best for the Werewolf. This greatly increases your Critical Chance, which results in better DPS overall.

Increases the Critical Strike rating by 1333
With 7 Divines armor pieces
Increases the Critical Strike rating by 2167
If you plan on soloing instanced content such as Dungeons and Arenas, then the Lover Mundus will be preferred. Enemies in dungeons and arenas have nearly twice as much armor as their Overland counterparts, so the increased Penetration available from The Lover Mundus will help you deal improved damage.

The Lover
Increases Physical and Spell Penetration by 2744
With 7 Divines armor pieces
Increases Physical and Spell Penetration by 4489
Best Werewolf One Bar Food/Drink Buff
Werewolf sustain was reworked in ESO Update 50 to be incredibly good. Most of your abilities cost very little and you also have better options to restore resources via skills and even Class Mastery. Therefore, the best food for a solo werewolf build in ESO is Bewitched Sugar Skulls, offering you the best Maximum Health, Maximum Magicka, and Maximum Stamina, as well as Health Recovery.

Bewitched Sugar Skulls
Increase Max Health by 4620, Max Stamina and Magicka by 4250, and Health Recovery by 462 for 2 hours.
These effects are scaled based on your level.
Best Solo Werewolf Build Potions
The best potion for the solo werewolf build is tri-stat potions, also known as tri pots or crown tri restoration potions. These restore Magicka, Stamina, and Health all in one shot, plus increase your Magicka Recovery, Stamina Recovery, and Health Recovery, making them the ideal choice for survival with this build.
Most players cannot afford keeping too many of these expensive potions on hand in game, so options like Stamina or Magicka potions can also be used, while saving the Tri Pots for dungeons and arenas.

Best Non-Werewolf Skills (Sorcerer Class)
Main Weapon: TWO HANDED – Click on a Skill Name to learn more
Werewolf Solo Skills Explanation
- Brutal Pounce – use this to close the distance between you and groups of enemies. The ability becomes a gap closer when you are at a sufficient range. While you are in melee range to ability converts to an AOE DOT that lasts 10 seconds, but also ramps up in duration up to 30 seconds if you recast it early. This makes it extremely good versus bosses as well as it lasts quite a long time once fully recast.
- Hircine’s Rage – this skill delivers a ton of value, acting as a massive burst heal when you need some extra healing in an emergency, but also boosting your damage by 12%, restoring a ton of Stamina, and also buffing you passively with Major Brutality and Major Sorcery, which is an essential damage buff.
- Ferocious Roar – another great buff skill which passively grants you Major Savagry and Major Prophecy which increases your Critical Chance. When you cast this skill you and your allies also gain Major Courage which increases weapon and spell damage, and a synergy (which you can take too!) that boosts damage and grants Minor Force to increase Critical Damage. More importantly for solo content, this skill fears enemies which will stun them for a good duration so you take less damage.
- Rip and Tear – while this skill does solid single-target DPS, I’ve found its best use for a solo Werewolf build is debuffing enemy armor with Major Breach. Make sure to use this against bosses and elites so that all of your abilities do more damage.
- Claw Fury – this new channeled Claw attack is your main source of damage and healing. That’s because it deals direct damage constantly over 5 seconds, meaning every swipe will not only deal AOE damage but also heal you if you are using The Ring of the Pale Order and Ravaging Blows Champion Point star.
- ULT: Werewolf Berserker – this is the best Ultimate morph for a Werewolf solo build thanks to its increased damage potential with the Major Berserk buff passively and bonus bleed damage which gets added to your light and heavy attacks.
Werewolf Solo Build Rotation
Buffs
Start combat by casting Hircine’s Rage to buff your damage as well as Ferocious Roar, and make sure to take the self-synergy that Roar provides too. Maintain these buffs 100% in combat if you can.
Combat
Leap into combat after buffing with the Brutal Pounce skill. Cast this skill a second time to apply the AOE DOT effect. Next, cast Rip and Tear on as many enemies (especially bosses and elites) as you can to reduce their armor. Next cast Ferocious Roar again to fear/stun enemies as well as build up your Blood Hunger. Finally, use Claw Fury to channel those fast claw attacks which deal powerful AOE damage and heal you back with the Pale Order mythic.
Notes
Make sure to light attack between each ability for maximum damage. Use Hircine’s Rage and block if you get in trouble.
Werewolf Passives
Class
Take all of your Class Passives, even though some will only work outside of Werewolf form. I’ve noted the passives to prioritize for Sorcerer which work while in Werewolf Form.
- Unholy Knowledge – works in Werewolf
- Blood Magic – works in Werewolf IF you take the Class Mastery passive
- Persistence – works in Werewolf
- Exploitation
- Rebate
- Power Stone – works in Werewolf
- Daedric Protection
- Expert Summoner
- Capacitor – works in Werewolf
- Energized – works in Werewolf
- Amplitude – works in Werewolf
- Expert Mage
Werewolf
Weapon
Weapon passives do not work in Werewolf Form, but can still be taken to improve your non-Werewolf build.
Armor Passives
- Grace
- Evocation
- Spell Warding
- Prodigy
- Concentration
- Dexterity
- Wind Walker
- Agility
- Athletics
- Resolve
- Constitution
- Juggernaut
- Revitalize
- Rapid Mending
