The SENTINEL Build is an insanely strong solo build for The Elder Scrolls Online, focused on powerful damage mitigation skills and passive self-healing! This build is ideal for soloing World Bosses, Normal and even Veteran Dungeons plus arenas like Infinite Archive. This build has been updated for the Scribing system and ESO Subclassing.
What you will learn in this One Bar Stamina Warden build guide:
- The best item sets to use with the Stam Warden One Bar Build, and why they are important.
- How the skills work, synergies with the gear, and your rotation.
- The best consumables, race, and mundus, and most importantly, why you should select them.
This guide has been updated for The Elder Scrolls Online Update 50.
Best One Bar Stamina Warden Sets
The recommended items sets for the SENTINEL Stamina Warden build focus on Critical Chance and Critical Damage, letting us deal a surprising amount of damage for a heavy armor build focused on survival!
First, the Order’s Wrath set is fantastic for soloing in ESO as it gives a combination of both Critical Chance and Damage and easily crafted or purchased on guild traders.
Next, the Leviathan set provides even more Critical Chance plus Max Stamina which will help support our overall resource pool.
The Oakensoul Ring will be an incredibly important part of running this build more effectively as it provides many of the buffs we would miss otherwise when limited to just one skill bar, including our Major buffs for Damage, Critical Chance and Armor.
Finally, the Slimecraw Monster Set just amplifies the damage this build can produce even more without worrying about buffs.

Alternate Stamina Warden Sets
Other damage-focused sets such as Briarheart or Hunding’s Rage will do well on this build. If you are playing with a group you can also try the new set Highland Sentinel which boasts some of the highest Critical Chance in the game but limits your mobility while doing so, which means you will need a tank or other player to help you group up enemies.

Briarheart

Using charge and teleport abilities do not remove stacks of Sentinel’s Eye.

One Bar Stamina Warden Race
In order to pump out as much damage as possible on this build I recommend Khajiit. Other options that will work well include Orc and Nord. For more details on all ESO Races and passive bonuses be sure to check out our Full ESO Race Guide.
Stamina Warden Best Mundus Stone
The best Mundus for this Stamina Warden build is the Thief Mundus which increases our Critical Chance, increasing overall damage and healing.

Increases the Critical Strike rating by 1333
With 7 Divines armor pieces
Increases the Critical Strike rating by 2167
Best Stamina Warden Food/Drink
The best food/drink option for this build is Artaeum Takeaway Broth. This buffs your Maximum Stamina which increases overall damage, Stamina Recovery which helps greatly with sustain, plus Max Health and Health Recovery which is amazing for improved survival.
This can be an expensive option, so if you’d like to use something cheaper Dubvious Camoran Throne gives similar bonuses just without the Health Recovery, and usually for much cheaper on Guild Traders.

Artaeum Takeaway Broth
Increase Max Health by 3326 and Health Recovery by 406 and Max Stamina by 3080 and Stamina Recovery by 338 for 2 hours.
These effects are scaled based on your level.

Dubious Camoran Throne
Increase Stamina Recovery by 315, Max Stamina by 2856 and Max Health by 3094 for 2 hours.
These effects are scaled based on your level.
A dessert cocktail of jagga, rotmeth, and sweetbread puree. Definitely Green Pact compliant.
Best One Bar Potions
Armor Potions (Bugloss, Mountain Flower, Mudcrab Chitin) can be used on this build to maximize survival, or Basic Health Potions which also increase Health Recovery.

Stamina Warden Skills Explanation
Main Weapon: ONE HAND AND SHIELD – Click on a Skill Name to learn more
- Deep Fissure: use this consistently for big AOE damage as well as fully debuffing enemy armor with Major Breach and Minor Breach – essentialy 10k armor debuff.
- Growing Swarm: use this to DOT up nearby enemies
- Arctic Blast: can be used for AOE frost damage and a stun, as well as a burst heal if no enemies are hit by the frost damage.
- Winter’s Revenge: AOE frost damage over time effect.
- Torchbearer: this is your main spammable on this build which greatly reduced incoming damage. Requires Scribing.
- Deep Slash: use this instead of Torchbearer if you aren’t ready for scribing yet.
- Bull Netch: can be used to restore Stamina and increase damage by 5%.
- Relentless Focus: Big burst damage and healing when subclassing the Nightblade Assassination skill line.
- ULT: Dawnbreaker Of Smiting: Basic AOE burst damage ultimate that also stuns all enemies in front of you. Can be helpful for grinding or clearing dungeons fast.
- ULT: Wild Guardian: the best passive Ultimate option. Always deals damage but can also deal bonus execute damage based on missing enemy health.
- ULT: Soul Harvest: best single target ultimate if subclassing. Greatly increases your damage against a single target while also generating ultimate.
Skills Discussion & Rotation
Torchbearer Explanation
Torchbearer is a Fighters Guild Skill that is only available through Scribing. With the right Scripts, this ability is absolutely amazing for Solo builds, combining an AOE damage channel (great for sustain) with damage reduction (30 percent!) and other affixes like Minor Resolve. Here are the Scripts I recommend:
- Focus Script: Disease, Physical or Fire Damage.
- Signature Script: Gladiator’s Tenacity – 30% Damage Reduction during channel.
- Affix Script: Minor Resolve – increases Physical and Spell Resistance by 2794.
Buffs
Maintain your Bull Netch at all times for extra damage if using. Use Armor Potions for more difficult content to maximize resistances, otherwise you can use basic Stamina or Magicka potions as needed.
Combat Tips
Fire off Deep Fissure first to debuff enemy armor, then follow this up with Growing Swarm and Arctic Blast to apply some additional damage over time. Then simply spam Torchbearer to deal AOE damage while also reducing the damage you take! Relentless Focus can be cast with 4 light attacks, or saved to fire off twice in a row. You may want to save one at all times as it also functions as a strong burst heal.

Stamina Warden Class Mastery
Players that reach level 50 in ESO while also fully reaching Rank 50 for their class skill lines and not subclassing can use 2 Class Mastery passives to improve their build. Wild Adaptation
The battlefield is your grove. Tend to it.
