Categories: Dragon’s Dogma 2 Vocations, Starting Vocations
The Archer vocation specializes in long-range attacks using a bow and arrow. They perform their attacks from afar and can target enemies in high positions. In addition, they are essential in supporting the frontline. For example, by targeting enemy weaknesses, they can create opportunities for your allies to strike.

Archer Vocation Gameplay
The Archer Vocation specializes in delivering superior ranged firepower using the bow and arrow, with abilities that target multiple creatures within an area or target a single creature for crazy high amounts of damage. This vocation is all about finesse and precision. If you prefer a hit-and-run playstyle that eliminates foes swiftly, like Legolas from The Lord of the Rings, this will be perfect for you. The Archer Vocation fills the party role for those who prefer dealing damage from a distance.
And yes, there are many, many ways to deal insane damage as an archer. Barrage Shot, eventually upgraded to Manifold Shot, will be one of your best DPS options early on as this fires a quick succession of arrows at a single target. For groups, you can then use something like Sweep Shot, which can hit multiple targets at once. Both of these skills can be used while moving, by the way, so don’t be afraid to reposition to get a better angle of attack.
Archers can use some special arrows as well such as Exploding Shot and Tarring Shot. These will set enemies off balance or slow them down, making them easier targets for your allies as well, and if you get in trouble, don’t forget that the Archer vocation has some decent mobility as well. For example, you can use Leaping Punt to kick enemies away from you while jumping and then combine this with the parting shot ability to land a well-placed arrow and really go for that Legolas playstyle.
