Enshrouded Best Food and Consumables Explained
Food and consumables are powerful ways to boost your character’s overall performance in Enshrouded. During Update 7, Food was radically overhauled to no longer increase main stats like intelligence but give a damage bonus to certain playstyles like melee, magic, or range. This impacted specific skills that scale in effectiveness based on your max stat like Water Aura and Radiant Aura.
Therefore, each build archetype will want a very specific food setup to maximize their build. In this guide, we aim to give you the best options for any build in Enshrouded, so you can make the best food choices and optimize your power.

How Food & Consumables Work in Enshrouded

Consumables and food are various buffs, healing, or utility effects in Enshrouded. They can be crafted at a crafting station or by Crafts People (Survivors). Food is found in eight different forms:
- Meat: considered game (animal part), these provide a boost to player health.
- Fruits: these provide health regeneration and are more advanced crafting requirements.
- Liquid: if you want stamina bonuses, Liquids are your main source with water being the beginning liquid.
- Herbs: these provide mana bonuses and are flowers that can be eaten raw or crafted with ingredients for more powerful effects.
- Grains: provide bonuses to melee damage
- Mushroom: provides bonuses to magic damage
- Vegetables: provide range and damage bonus damage
- Sweets: short burst stamina regeneration
Each food type has a specific bonus or buff that it provides for a limited time. You can take basic animal parts and cook the food to gain higher health benefits or each berry raw for a short buff.

Each player begins with three food slots and you can only have one of each food type at a give time. If you try to eat two types of fruits, you will get a sound and a notification that it’s not possible. However, there is a skill in the Survivor Tree that gives you an extra food slot called Dessert Stomach. This is a powerful skill because you can take advantage of another massive stat boost with four foods in total.
Your goal is to always have food slots in use because of their massive bonus in power. Even as a beginner, drinking water, eating berries, and cooking meat is essential for survival until you reach better options.
Key Rules to Remember
- Food buffs have durations
- Only a limited number of buffs can be active
- Buff synergy matters more than raw stats
- A food slot can be refreshed or overwritten with 20% duration left
- You can stack multiple consumables with food for a massive amount of buffs
Best Food for Ranger / Archer (Bow)

| Food | Type | Duration | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taro Root Curry | Rare (Vegetable) | 55 min | +21% Ranged Damage +21% Dagger Damage +60 Mana |
| Chicken Soup | Uncommon (Meat) | 40 min | +6% Ranged Damage +6% Dagger Damage +160 Health |
| Strawberry Milkshake | Rare (Fruit) | 50 min | +18 Health Regeneration +12 Stamina Regeneration |
| Coconana Smoothie | Rare (Liquid) | 55 min | +9 Health Regeneration +30 Stamina +30 Stamina Regeneration |
The best food for an Archer/Ranger, or a bow user in Enshrouded is Taro Root Curry combined with Chicken Soup. Unlike other playstyles, the Bow can benefit from two sources of increased ranged damage. Taro Root Curry gives you 21% while Chicken Soup counts as a meat and offers another 6%. The overall health gain is lower at 160 with this meat, but playing at range gives you innate survivability to make up the difference.
Your two sources of regeneration are Strawberry Milkshake and Coconana Smoothie, both of which offer stamina and health regeneration. Health regeneration isn’t as important as stamina regen, which is your main concern. You can also swap food for more stats and gain mana if you find yourself using the updraft skill will traveling or using spells. This setup assumes you have the Dessert Stomach skill in Survivor to get four food slots. If not, drop Strawberry Milkshake.

There are two special foods you should consider as well called Glimmer Gentian Tea and Grilled Fish with Coconut Rice. The Tea is useful if you have enough regeneration and can drop the Strawberry Milkshake for it. The Grilled Fish is useful when doing swimming and diving because you gain extra oxygen needed for puzzles in Veilwater Basin.

- Tomato / Forest Beet / Bell Pepper (Ranged Damage) – increase ranged damage, found in Springlands, Revelwood, and Nomad Highlands, respectively.
- Grilled Wolf Meat (Health) – found from killing a Wolf then grilling in the cooking station. Consume Dried Purple Berry for health regeneration (requires drying rack).

Explosive Arrows and various skills from the Assassin tree are vital to cause a multiple-chain reaction of damage. The Ranger skill tree also has multishot skills, which can trigger extra arrows and these effects stack to produce some of the highest damage in Enshrouded.
Also, always have health potions, mana potions, and bandages on you at all times. These are essential to every builds survivability and you can craft them at the Alchemist and Hunter.

Taro Root Curry and Chicken Soup are the best food for the Assassin build because they both increase Dagger damage. The Assassin can use both ranged (Bow) and Daggers with one food choice giving them flexibility in combat. Moreover, both the dagger and the bow scale in effectiveness (more damage) based on your dexterity stat. Therefore, playing the Assassin and Dagger setup, you take these two foods for optimal damage and health and use melee and range at will.
Your secondary food choices are based on your stamina and health regeneration needs. Plantain Curry gives more health regeneration than Strawberry Milkshake which you need playing melee aggressive style. Also, Coconana Smoothie can be taken if you have an extra food slot via the Dessert Stomach passive.

If you’re survivability is too low based on the lack of health, craft Crab Cakes and drop Chicken Soup. This will give you 120 more health, and also consider taking the Feast passive in Warrior for another 15% more HP from meat.
