Last Meal

The Last Meal skill in the Survivor tree looks to prevent you from losing out on expensive and costly food and consumables. The consumables have been radically changed, and now with more advanced food, you can expect even more complexity to craft them. What Last Meal does is keeps your food buff running even if you die.
While this sounds nice, the food buff last half as long. This is a massive negative considering the top tier food buffs that increase raw damage rather than stats in Update 7, now only last for roughly 45 minutes. While yes its helpful to persist through death, at the cost of five skill points might be too hefty for some players.
Wet Dog / Soaked Dog

Update 7 introduced two new debuffs called Wet and Soaked. These debuffs reduce your stamina regeneration and make you vulnerable to shock. If you’re a returning player, expect a massive nerf to your stamina sustain in general as that was reworked in the latest patch. Wet Dog and Soaked Dog aim to mitigate these effects with two skills.
Another advantage of the skills is it allows you to apply soaked and wet debuffs to enemies. These debuffs can be great for a Wizard build using Shock spells for largescale AOE damage. The downside is, it’s clear in the Athlete skill tree and not in a blue magic based tree. Thus, you would need a massive skill point investment just to apply a debuff to enemies, making it not a meta skill for spellcasters.
Splash Dash

The Splash Dash skill is found in the Athlete red skill trees and it gives you an evasion dash while in the water or diving. Splash Dash cost 80 stamina and a 5 skill point investment. Considering the new area is nearly entirely water with underground swimming, this is a great skill to pickup. You won’t be able to attack enemies while you’re in the water, but they will be able to attack you. Moreover, you can use this to sprint ahead and reach oxygen instead of dying.
The major downside to this skill is a huge skill point investment in a skill line, Athlete, that won’t be attractive to 90% of builds. If you’re playing a high mobility Barbarian build or Warrior, then consider the Splash Dash skill. Otherwise, it might not be worth a huge investment.
Fisherman’s Resolve

The Fisherman’s Resolve is a helpful skill found in the center yellow skill tree. It gives you extra endurance while fishing and extended battles with a fish hooked for five skill points. Fishing is a new mini-game system in Enshrouded, introduced in Update 7. You can acquire end-game materials needed for consumables so expect fishing to remain a staple in the game.
A helpful tip is to respec when you plan on doing fishing. Take five points from something else and take Fisherman’s Resolve. Then, respec just that skill and place it somewhere else when combat is required. This will help you stay focused on your task combat or crafting.
Whirlwind Crescendo

The Whirlwind Crescendo skill in the Barbarian tree gives you a extra attack after a three button attack chain. Costing 75 stamina, you twirl in a circle, inflicting massive damage in a 360 degree radius (spin to win). However, you cannot activate it when you want and must be part of an attack chain, which is the major downside of this skill.
But, with the introduction of the Greatsword, the developers have incentivized heavy two-handed weapon gameplay. The Whirlwind does tons of damage and is great for clearing groups of enemies just button mashing. Just keep a look out for your stamina as it will consume regardless if you hit a target or not. Also note that this only applies to two-handed weapons and not one-handed so pickup a Greatsword and get to swinging!
Titan Edge

The Titan Edge skill in the Warrior tree gives Greatswords an additional 10% damage with only four skill point investment. This is a massive boost to the overall power of the Two-Handed Greatsword build because you can gain all the raw power from other skills and perks in the Warrior and Barbarian skill tree. Likely, the Greatsword will have the highest damage potential out of all the melee weapons thanks to this skill.
Upwards Slash Attack

The Upwards Slash Attack gives you the ability to strike upwards at flying enemies at the cost of 25 stamina. The ability acts as a mid-air gap closer, attacking a flying target even if you’re not on top of them. This can be helpful if you don’t have the Grounding Hook skill passive in the Center that pulls enemies towards you. And some areas like the Kindlewaste Desert are filled with filling creatures that are annoying without Upwards Slash Attack. A niche skill that can be helpful to melee builds.
Kick

The Kick ability allows melee users to block and attack using a kick to fill up enemies stun bar. The damage scales with Dexterity and the ability is found in the Assassin skill tree. It’s targeting Dagger wielding players who need a mechanic to stun enemies at close range.
Players can use the Kick skill even if they are not a Assassin, as it’s early investment in the Assassin tree. This is a good choice if you want to block kick and fill up the stun bar for a Merciless Attack. If you find yourself doing Merciless Attacks frequently, make sure to pickup the Opportunity skill in the center to double it’s damage.
Expose Weakness

The Expose Weakness skill found in the Beastmaster tree increases damage by 25% for three seconds after a critical with Daggers. This looks to be essential for the Assassin stealth playstyle dramatically boosting damage. Players using this build will want to increase their critical chance to take advantage of this passive.
However, the downside of this skill is it only affects one weapon type and doesn’t have universal utility. Therefore, take it if you’re committed to using daggers, otherwise it’s useless.
Divine Surge

The Divine Surge in the healer tree allows your healing spells to critical strike. The amount you critical for will scale off of your critical strike damage. Costing five points, this is a big investment but will allow healers or players that take this skill to burst heal. It could be a great choice for players with high enough level to reach Wizard skills and Healer, making you have high burst damage and healing all in one. However, it’s deep in the healer tree and is likely for support players rather than universal application.
Righteous Fire

The Righteous Fire skill deals damage as fire to fell enemies by healing targets with a spell. The amount of damage is 50% of the healing value. This skill is targeting support players that are burst healing their team in the Fell and they still want to deal damage. Like Divine Surge, this has limited application to healer and support players, but will make gameplay much more fun for them rather than just healing.
Resistances

The developers have added many resistance nodes to the game like Fire, Shock, and Shroud. You can find these skills in the Battlemage and Wizard trees. The nice thing about these passive skills is they only cost two points each and provide 5% damage reduction. The downside, however, is they are located in spellcaster trees, sometimes deep within them.
Likely, each spellcaster will want to take some of these as a means of lowering overall incoming elemental damage. Sadly, it will likely have to skipped if you’re playing a Ranger or Barbarian build otherwise you’ll need a hefty skill point investment.
Shared Misery

The Shared Misery skill buffs shroud resistance while take shroud damage. In between the Battlemage and Healer builds, this is a highly supportive skill as it applies to all players within 20-meters and it last for 30 seconds. The resistance is 15% making it a huge bonus and it will stack with other resistance passive skills in the same tree. Thus, you can have around 25% resistance to shroud.
Players can use the Wizard skills to deal constant damage while in the shroud as well and create an ultimate power leveling and farming setup using this combo. Even take the skill that adds to timer and you can stay in the shroud indefinitely!
