Enshrouded Camera & Photo Mode Overview
Enshrouded update 8, “Forging the Path”, has added a much-requested photo mode to the game but in true Enshrouded style, you have to craft the camera yourself in order to actually use the feature. That’s not all. The crafted camera in-game is also required if you want to make use of the new adventure sharing feature, where you must create at least one in-game screenshot of your world in order to set up your adventure-sharing page and profile to share your world with other players. So not only is the new Crafted Camera fun to use in Enshrouded, but it’s also extremely functional.
How To Craft A Camera in Enshrouded
To craft a camera in Enshrouded, you first need to have created a Workbench somewhere. Most players create a Workbench early on in their adventure as its required to build most of the useful tools in the game such as the Grappling Hook and the Glider. With Enshrouded Update 8, the Camera is now found here as well under the Essentials section.
To craft the camera, you will need:
- 1 Metal Scrap
- 2 Wood Logs
This places the Camera in your next open backpack or inventory slot, just like any other tool.

How to use the Camera to enter Photo Mode
With the camera selected as your current tool, players can press Tab on the keyboard or Left Trigger on a controller to enter Photo Mode. Your screen at this point becomes the Photo Mode as you walk and move around. Pressing Z or down on the Right Stick will switch you to a First Person perspective which is recommended for most pictures unless you specifically want to see your character.

How to find your Camera Pictures in Enshrouded
Pictures taken using the in-game camera photo mode will be stored in your Steam folder, allowing you to easily access with your Steam account. These screenshots can also added to your World Profile in the new Adventure Sharing menu to help show other players your world creations.
Note: at least one screenshot is required to share your world with the new Adventure Sharing system.
Enshrouded Camera FAQ
1. Where do you craft the Camera in Enshrouded?
The Camera is crafted at the Workbench, the same crafting station you use for essential tools like the Grappling Hook and the Glider. With Update 8, the Camera has been added to the Essentials section of the Workbench. You only need 1 Metal Scrap and 2 Wood Logs to craft it, making it one of the cheaper items available there.
2. Do you need the Camera to use Adventure Sharing?
Yes, if you want to upload your own world. Adventure Sharing requires at least one screenshot of your world before you can create your upload page and share it with the community. Those screenshots must be taken using the in-game Camera. If you only want to visit other players’ creations rather than share your own, you do not need the Camera.
3. How do you switch to first person view in Photo Mode?
With the Camera selected as your active tool, press Tab on keyboard or Left Trigger on a controller to enter Photo Mode. Once inside Photo Mode, press Z on keyboard or down on the Right Stick on a controller to switch to first person perspective. First person is recommended for most shots unless you specifically want your character visible in the frame.
4. Where are your Camera screenshots saved?
Screenshots taken with the in-game Camera are saved to your Steam folder and can be accessed through your Steam account. They are also available to add directly to your World Profile in the Adventure Sharing menu when setting up your upload.
5. Can you use the Camera outside of Adventure Sharing?
Yes. The Camera functions as a full photo mode tool regardless of whether you intend to use Adventure Sharing. Selecting it as your current tool and pressing Tab or Left Trigger puts you into Photo Mode at any time, so you can capture screenshots of your builds, the landscape, or anything else in Embervale whenever you want.
6. Is the Camera a one-time craft or do you need multiple?
The Camera is crafted like any other tool and placed into your inventory when made. One Camera is all you need since it is a reusable item rather than a consumable. If you lose it or need another for a different character, you can craft another at any Workbench for the same 1 Metal Scrap and 2 Wood Logs.
