If you are looking for the best solo build in Enshrouded, this beginner-friendly Battlemage is made to keep you alive and fully self-sufficient. It pairs a Wand and Shield for safe ranged damage and reliable blocking, then leans on the Healer tree so you heal yourself and never depend on a group. This guide covers the full skill progression, stats, gear, spells, and rotation for Enshrouded 1.0.
Enshrouded Solo Build Overview
The Solo build for Enshrouded focuses on three skill trees. The Battlemage and Wizard trees give you magic damage, mana, and wand power. The Healer tree gives you self-healing through Water Aura, Waters of Life, and Blink. The Battlemage tree also ties it together with Life Burst for extra self-healing when an enemy dies and Life Essence for a large health pool. A dip into Guardian adds Constitution and blocking so you can turtle and face tank enemies.

Why the wand works so well for a beginner: it gives you medium range, it lets you block, and with the right skill nodes it provides passive healing. Early on, you have very little stamina to dodge, so blocking is your main defense. The wand lets you turtle up behind a shield and strike at the right moment, and the extra range and damage over a melee weapon is a big help while you learn.

You can also swap to a staff and use it purely for healing. With Water Aura ranks you passively heal a decent amount, and for a brand new player, eating berries or any health-regen food on top of that makes you much more survivable. Range, solid damage, blocking, and enough stamina for Blink: that mix is what makes this the safest way to start.

Because respec is free at any Flame Altar, new players can experiment without penalty. That makes it an ideal first build for the PlayStation 5 launch crowd.
The main downside is mana management early on. Your damage ramps up slower than the Archer, and you rely on good food buffs. Once Mana Drain and the Healer passives come online, the build becomes very forgiving.

Attributes Distribution and Optimization

Intelligence is your primary stat. It scales magic damage, healing, and your mana pool, so it does triple duty for this build. Put the majority of your points here. The more intelligence you have, the more passive healing with Water Aura you get. At early levels, this is a massive survivability boost. Plus, passives in Battlemage give you health per Intelligence, so you can double dip from its effectiveness.
Constitution is second for a bigger health bar and safer solo play. Spirit is third for mana pool and regeneration, which keeps your wand and spells firing. Add a few Endurance points so you have the stamina to block and Blink.
In 1.0, armor and rings add ranks to skills, and food adds damage rather than raw stats. That means your gear choices matter as much as your point spend, so prioritize pieces that add Intelligence, mana, and magic damage.
Solo Skill Progression (Level 1-50)
The order below front-loads survival and mobility so a new player is safe from the first few levels, then scales damage and health through the mid game. Clear every Shroud Root (one point each) and Elixir Well (three points each) in a zone before you move on, so your level and your point total climb together.
Trees used, in priority order: Battlemage, Healer, Wizard, then Guardian for defense. Each skill name links to its full breakdown on the site.
Note: 1.0 resets the skill tree on October 15, 2026, so a few node positions and costs may shift. Prioritize Water Aura, Blink, Exalted, and Life Essence early for solo survivability. The crafting and gathering nodes in the Core block are optional; swap them for extra combat or defense nodes if you prefer.
Levels 1 to 20

Most of these nodes focus on passive healing, wand damage, and mobility. After about level 20, it shifts into some quality of life and utility nodes. If you want them earlier, feel free to take them (like Mason making mining easier). Just realize, you will sacrifice power early.

Levels 46 to 50 (coming with Update 1.0)
The final five levels and their new 1.0 nodes will be added once the launch patch notes confirm them. Expect more Intelligence, higher skill ranks, and any new mage nodes worth slotting. Check back on launch day.
Backup Weapon Setup: One-Handed, Shield + Bow

You can run a one-handed weapon with a shield as a backup setup, and carry a bow for flying enemies and the Fell Dragon Youngling. In the early game, before about level 20, it barely matters which you pick. You have few passives either way, so play whatever feels better while you learn the game.
Focus on Double Jump and Crash Down as your main combo of jumping and slamming into the air. Your healing will come from potions and food rather than Water Aura. If you prefer that playstyle, our full builds that go deeper on it are listed below:
- Full melee route: Ultimate Tank Build (sword and board survivability) or the Ultimate Warrior Build for more one-handed damage.
- Full ranged route: Ultimate Archer Build for the complete bow progression.
Best Solo Armor, Accessories, and Sets

The general premise when gearing your character is that specific slots favor specific Survivors. Meaning, you want to use Blacksmith for chest and legs for more raw stats. However, the developers have added set bonuses, so as you progress, this becomes less important. We give some general progression sets that can help balance your stats, resources, and damage below:
| Slot | Recommended | Why |
| Head | Alchemist: Apprentice, Mage, Magician, Archmage, Thaumaturge, Tidecaller | Prioritize +Intelligence and Magic Critical. Head and gloves are your damage slots. |
| Chest | Blacksmith: Fur, Rising Fighter, Adventurer, Guardian, Soldier (swap to Alchemist Hailcaster +8% Wand damage) | Take the high +Health or +Stamina piece here for solo safety. |
| Arms | Alchemist: Apprentice, Mage, Omen, Warlock, Hailcaster, Flaming Gauntlets (unique) | Look for Wand damage and a useful +1 skill. |
| Legs | Blacksmith: Fur, Rising Fighter, Adventurer, Guardian, Soldier, Golden Bulwark | Favor stamina and health regen. |
| Feet | Blacksmith: Fur, Rising Fighter, Adventurer, Guardian, Soldier, Bloodfeather (unique) | Favor stamina and health regen. |
| Ring 1 | Gemini Ring | +Health and Health Leech for survival. Great early. |
| Ring 2 | Ring of the Ancients | +1 to all stats raises damage and self-healing at once. |
Mix and match for the bonuses, not matching sets. Your head and gloves carry magic damage and critical, your chest carries health, and your legs and boots carry mana and stamina regeneration. Upgrade armor and rings with runes for the extra skill ranks. See the Best Armor Sets for Every Playstyle for current options.

Grab two Gemini Rings early from the Fell Banshee in Moth’s Grove, due north of the start. Swap to the Ring of the Ancients once your survivability is solid.
Update this section with the new 1.0 biome drops at launch. Equipment now caps at level 55, so best-in-slot pieces will come from the new zone.
Backup setup: Alternative armor for the one-handed and shield backup: lean heavier on Blacksmith chest and legs for Strength and health, and keep caster gloves or a mix if you still want some magic-damage and Water Aura healing. Update with 1.0 sets at launch.
Best Solo Weapons

| Slot | Pick | Notes |
| Primary (Wand) | Element Bonus (Fire is best) | In 1.0 wands gain a piercing heavy attack and two new skills. Match the wand element to your gems. The Scorching Wand is a strong early fire wand from a chest in the Springlands. |
| Off-hand (Shield) | Prismatic Ward | Block, Parry Power, +Mana Regen, and elemental resistances. The core of your defense. |
| Backup Melee | One-handed sword + Shield | For players who prefer melee, or as a fallback when mana runs low. Keeps you blocking. |
| Backup Ranged | Bow | For long range flying enemies and the reworked Fell Dragon Youngling. Every mage should carry one. |
| Optional (Staff) | Healing or nuke staff | Swap to it for healing, or use Blast and Cast: a wand crit raises your next staff attack by 50% for 10 seconds. |
Most strong weapons come from gold and silver chests and boss drops, not crafting. Set up Flame Altars near chest routes and farm a weapon with the trait you want. Health Leech is a safe trait on any solo build.
Match your wand element to your gem and your magic-damage passives. Fire pairs with the Gem of Burning and the Arsonist skill, shock pairs with the Gem of Storm’s Eye.
See the Best Wands Ranked and the Best Shields & Wards Ranked for current picks.
Staying Alive Solo: Block, Heal, and Kite

Your survival comes from three main layers. Water Aura and Waters of Life give passive and active healing. Life Burst gives you health when an enemy dies, and you can get back health orbs via the Bloodletting skill.
On defense, tap one or two wand attacks and get ready to block. Heavy attack that now pierces in 1.0, so you cannot permanently block. Blink and Emergency Blink are your escape buttons, and they cost stamina, which is exactly why you lean on blocking rather than dodging early. If you have excessive stamina, Blink 2-3 times, then swap to staff and channel a heal you should have plenty of mana.
When mana is gone, swap to the one-handed sword and shield and keep blocking until it regenerates and use wand attacks to regen mana via passive skills. When something flies, swap to the bow. This loop is slow but almost impossible to die in, which is exactly what a solo or new player wants.
Best Consumables and Buffs

At the start of your adventure, stick with simple but effective foods and ingredients:
- Meat for increased Constitution (survivability).
- Mushrooms for higher Intelligence and spell scaling.
- Berries for natural health regeneration.
As you recruit the Farmer NPC, invest in expanding her recipe list to unlock higher-tier options like Glow Soup, Milkshake, and Pumpkin Soup. Pair these foods with Alchemist potions for a balanced setup that keeps your Battlemage effective in every stage of Enshrouded.
Food in 1.0 adds damage and utility rather than raw stats, so keep your buffs active at all times. The Dessert Stomach skill adds an extra food slot, which is a big power jump for this build. See the Best Food & Consumables guide for recipes.

Below is the table for best end-game food choices:
| Food | Type | Duration | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Algae Salad | Rare (Mushroom) | 45 min | +120 Mana +21% Melee Damage |
| Meat Wrap | Uncommon (Meat) | 50min | +200 Health +6% Magic Damage |
| Strawberry Milkshake | Rare (Fruit) | 50 min | +18 Health Regeneration +12 Stamina Regeneration |
| Herbal Mountain Tea | Uncommon (Liquid) | 40 min | +100 Mana +50 Stamina |
Best Solo Gems

Match your damage gem to your wand element. The Gem of Burning is the top pick for a fire wand, with high damage-over-time uptime once upgraded. The Gem of Storm’s Eye is strong for a shock wand, especially against Soaked enemies.
For survivability, the Gem of Battle Mania grants regeneration while an Elixir buff is active. See the Best Gems Ranked for the full list.
Best Glider

The Ghost Glider is the best glider for this build. It is a level 30 legendary glider with increased range and speed, found in a gold chest at the top of the South-East Sun Temple. See the Best Gliders Guide for how to reach it.
Enshrouded Solo Build FAQ
1. What is the best solo build in Enshrouded?
A Wand and Shield Battlemage is the best solo build for most players. It has safe medium-range damage, a block to survive melee, and strong self-healing, so it does not need a group.
2. Is the Battlemage good for beginners?
Yes. It is one of the most forgiving builds in the game thanks to self-healing, shield blocking, and a free respec at any Flame Altar, so new players can learn without being punished.
3. Can I play this build with melee instead of a wand?
Yes. Use the one-handed, shield, and bow backup setup above. Before level 20 it plays almost the same. If you like it, move to the full Tank, Warrior, or Archer builds.
4. Wand or staff for a solo mage in 1.0?
Lead with a wand for its new piercing heavy attack and shield pairing. Carry a staff as a second weapon to heal and to use Blast and Cast.
5. What level cap does this build target?
Enshrouded 1.0 raises the player level cap to 50 and equipment to 55, with a full skill tree reset on October 15, 2026.
Changelog & Build Updates
