Water Everywhere

Enshrouded has turned the entire world into three dimensions by adding water and mechanics to swim, dive, and hold your breath underwater. This turns the old areas and map into even more exploration while adding a new zone entirely. You can swim and dive and manage oxygen now and extend oxygen with skills, gear and consumes.
However, there will be no underwater combat for the player. The enemies will be able to target and attack you, thus it creates an incentive to swim fast (passive skills) and avoid damage until you reach the shore.
With water everywhere, you’ll be able to solve puzzles in new ways as well by redirecting moats, canals, and traps. Let’s move onto the new zone next!
Veilwater Basin (Endgame Loop)

The new biome or area is called the Veilwater Basin north almost dead center of the map. Look between the Blackmire and the Albaneve Summits Towers. You should get an intro quest popup if you’re flame is at level 8 (can now reach level 9). Then you want to hit “show on map,” which will give you an early entry point into the zone.
This area will be a higher level end-game zone, so expect monsters to be at level 35 or higher. The new level cap is 45, with weapons going all the way to 50. The new enemies are the Drak, a reptile like creature that will surely punish lower level characters. Explore the vast area with new points of interest, quests, craftspeople and tons of new weapons and armor.
Fishing & Food Economy

Enshrouded has now added fishing to their game. Fishing functions like a mini-game with it’s own progression loop. You can get rare fish and turn it into some of the best consumables in the game. You will need bait, rods, and other equipment to fish and or make it easier. You can also get skills that add or make fishing easier so expect it to be a core part of the game which you can avoid if you don’t like mini games.
Greatswords & Melee Meta

We get the introduction of a new two-handed weapon type, the Greatsword. With it, the developers added a couple of new skills, one Whirlwind Crescendo which acts as “spin-to-win.” An AOE cleave 360 radius damage skill that players will surely love. You will have to find new Greatswords just like when daggers were introduced to take advantage of this playstyle, but expect it to be a strong end-game meta setup just like the Babarian build.
Regen, Sustain & Difficulty

Regeneration and sustain will be much lower than previous. This will effect not only health but mana and stamina s well. However, the developers have reworked gear, including food, rings, armor perks to enhance recovery. Moreover, Wands and Wards (shields) now have mana regeneration built into them. Therefore, players may need to spec more into regeneration especially health or healing spells to counter the changes.
Loot & Progression Flow

A massive nerf has been implemented and that’s to gold chest farming. Previously, you could mark your map with gold chest (like above), login, open them all, log out and respawn every chest. This led to 10-15 minute loops giving you tons of legendary max level weapons. However, now all chest will have a timer on them and respawn only via in game time. The patch notes do not share the timer but we can suspect it’ll be long.
However, you can now craft lore weapons you obtained previously to fill in the gaps. This can allow cool looking and powerful weapons to scale up to your current level and help until you find that best and slot item.
Base-Building & Industry

There is a massive new selection of base building options. This picture shows a water wheel you can add to your base and harness the power of water! You can also get water gates, barriers, cans, underwater crops and more. So expect to add or enhance previous designs with water building materials and or start fresh with a water based build.
New Skills

Below are the list of all the new skills added in Update 7 of Enshrouded Wake of the Water:
