Table of Contents
Enshrouded Bow Build Overview
The strength of the bow build is it’s unique damage added mechanics; skill shot, and elemental arrows. This allows you to trigger massive damage on demand, though it requires a lot of crafting and maintenance to use special arrows. Unlike Eternal Ice Arrow or Eternal Spells, arrows are a one-time use consumable and require constant crafting. However, players can use basic Wood Arrows, or get Eternal Ice arrow early in the game and not worry about expensive crafting of Explosive Arrow III. But, if you want the ultimate damage, you’ll need to spend more time than other builds hunting down materials (Black Powder).
Another benefit of playing the Bow build is it’s synergy with Daggers. Daggers damage scales in effectiveness with Dexterity, thus, you can use both weapons and stack one attribute for optimal damage between the two. There is even a skill designed for this playstyle called Slice and Dice: after a crit with a dagger, your next bow attack deals 50% extra damage. Another unique element is the food choices (consumables) also buff bow daggers and bows. Therefore, you have a hybrid range or melee approach to combat which is highly effective.
One concern players should be aware of is lack of healing with the Bow. Melee damage dealers have the Battle Heal skill which gives health back on critical hits. Spellcasters have the Lifeburst skill which gives back health after a magic weapon kill. There is no such mechanic for bow users outside using Gemini Ring or Life Leech on your weapons. Therefore, you must play further back and avoid melee conflict until you get more healing options with bandages, potions, and the staff.
The pros outweigh the cons, and the Bow build is recommended for players who love sniping at a distance and want massive damage and mobility at end game.

Attributes Distribution and Optimization – Bow

In Update 8 of Enshrouded, you will now find that armor and rings have additional bonuses for skills. Some skills like Ranger adds Dexterity and Endurance, while others mainly add increased armor, regeneration, or damage. This change is important because no longer are armor sets merely about stat increases, but also critical skills that push your builds power even further.
Additionally, Update 7 overhauled food, so that too will no longer increase your max stats, but rather damage to range, melee, or magic. The result your primary stat (Dexterity) is harder to come by and skills that scale in effectiveness based on stats will be weaker.
Therefore, Dexterity will be your primary stat to increase. Stamina is your secondary stat and this can be increased via Endurance or food. Consider increasing your primary homes comfort so you can get a bigger and longer rested buff because it adds so much stamina and stamina regeneration you can oftentimes not rely on food alone to boost this stat.
Constitution is also important so you can eat one or more attacks if you are in close range without dying. The Tank skill Thick Skin gives you Constitution based off your Flame Level and at end game, this will boost you up beyond 1,200 and hopefully to 1,500.

Lastly on stats, you can increase fire damage via the Wizard skill tree (or other elements). This will effect special arrows and or your weapon’s damage. For instance, we recommend using a Ignited Bow with Explosive Arrows because that fire damage will increase via two Wizard skills. You can do the same if you use Eternal Ice Arrow and Avalanche Starter Bow for instance. The point is, be aware of the elements on your bow, the passive skills, and how they all tie together. Or just keep reading our guide below!
In summary, for the best Bow build in Enshrouded, distribute your skill points with a focus on Dexterity, followed by Constitution and Intelligence. Use the Survivor skill tree to unlock the Dessert Stomach passive skill, and always keep your food buffs optimized for maximum ranged damage, mana regeneration, and overall performance.
Bow Build Skill Progression (Level 1-45)

The Bow build will use primarily Ranger and Assassin skill trees along with Survivor and Tank for utility and damage reduction. Below we list the best skills to select in order for the Ultimate Bow build in Enshrouded.
Enshrouded skills are currently capped at 184 skill points at max level 45 (Update 8). The final zone is Veilwater Basin, and in each zone you can collect additional skill points from Shroud Root and Elixir Wells. Therefore, you should look to clear each zone of these before progressing alongside your level increase for max skill points.
Best Skills Explained

Chain Reaction + Ricochets: The Chain Reaction skill causes a 20% chance to trigger a secondary explosion with 50% damage in a small radius. Ricochet increase the damage by 1% per each enemy you hit with an explosive arrow. Thus, you’re incentivized to hit as many targets as possible to trigger an extra explosion with increasing damage. Don’t take this skill in the Assassin tree until you are much further along in the game. And for most players, just use Explosive Arrow I because it’s much easier to resource farm.
Multi Shot + Spread + Trigger: These three bonuses stack together allowing your regular arrows and special arrows to trigger an additional spawn. While the percentage is somewhat low, the damage is incredible procing double your arrows at random. Plus, with Chain Reaction, you can trigger extra explosions. All of a sudden, you will see a ton of numbers pop up on the screen and these skills together is what make it possible.
Ranger + Dessert Stomach: the best stats based skills are Ranger and Dessert Stomach. Ranger gives a ton of bonuses, the most important of which is critical chance and +2 dexterity. No other node gives this type of bonus throughout any skill tree. Dessert Stomach in the Survivor tree grants an extra food slot. This is critical to maintaining maximum damage and resource sustain. Bow and Daggers can use two foods to boost damage, and with your fourth slot, you can use regeneration food or something like Glimmer Gentian Tea which increase damage against the fell by 15%!
Kick or Begone: you need an on demand stun with this build, so you have two options. Kick deals melee damage and fills up the enemies stun bar. The damage and stun is dependent on your dex stat, which will be high. The strength of this is damage and stun filling and it doesn’t require mana. The other option is Begone in Trickster. This stuns the targets using mana with a unarmed monk style melee punch. Just leave one space dead on your bar, and smash something. This is a better stun, but it doesn’t deal damage and requires mana. Experiment with both, but having an oh crap stun will save your life when overwhelmed with infinite blocking melee enemies.
Best Bow Armor, Accessories, and Sets

| Slot | Equipment | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Head | Quetzal Hunter Helmet | 18% Ranged Critical Strike Chance 15% Crit Strike Damage 2min Wet Duration Reduction +1 Snake Eater |
| Upper Body | Skull Stalker Chest | +27 Stamina +13% Skillshot Damage 3 Min Wet Duration Reduction +1 Ranger (dex and end) |
| Arms | Quetzal Hunter Gloves | 9% Bow Damage +9% Damage Against Ranged 1:30 Min Wet duration Reduction +1 Marksman (+5 bow damage) |
| Lower Body | Quetzal Hunter Pants | +22 Stamina +12% Sprint Speed 2 min Wet Duration Reduction +1 Blessed Arrows |

| Ring 2 | Ring of the Ancients | +4 Health Regen +5 Mana Regen +4 Stamina Regen +1 Warrior’s Path +1 Mage Apprentice +1 Marksman +1 Well rested +5 Critical Strike Chance |
The Quetzal Hunter set is the best overall armor choice for the a Bow build in Enshrouded Update 8. You want to mix and match a variety of sets based on their bonuses. For example, Skull Stalker chest grants +1 Ranger which gives you more Dexterity (damage). This is a better choice in that slot for damage, while the Quetzal Hunter chest can give you more HP if you struggle with survival. Make sure to upgrade your armor and rings now for max stat bonuses. Look to grab Gemini Rings for life leech or Ring of the Ancients if your survivability is good.
Below, we go through some early options in armor and gear for Bow build:
Early Game (Level 1-15)
At the earliest parts of the game, look for these gear sets with the Bow Build:
- Level 3: Rags (manual crafting)
- Level 5: Fur Armor (Blacksmith)
- Level 8: Scout Armor (Hunter)
- Level 13: Ranger Armor (Hunter)
When you start the game, you can craft the basic Rags from your manual crafting screen at level 3. From here, look to get a set of Fur armor at level 5 from the Blacksmith. Then, at level 8, you will get your first bow specific set via the Hunter Survivor called the Scout Armor. Beyond the Scout, crafted at the Hunter, you will have multiple options in different level ranges. What’s confusing is, the armors offer similar bonuses, but not always identical.
As a general rule, your chest doesn’t offer much offensive bonuses thus you can wear “heavy” or Blacksmith armor and gain lots of HP. Your gloves and head is where your damage sources come from while boots and legs are for regeneration and other bonuses.
Therefore, look to take a chest piece from the blacksmith, and head and gloves from Hunter. You can even take more mana generating in legs and boots from Alchemist, or go for more health regeneration via Blacksmith. Either way, look at the gloves and head to optimize for critical.

If you can, get two Gemini Rings from the Fell Banshee in the Moth’s Grove area due north from the start. These help massively with health and survival.
Mid Game (Level 16-35)
After you’ve reached midgame, look to acquire these crafting sets:
- Level 18: Hunter
- Level 23: Deadeye
- Level 25: Eagle Eye (drop)
- Level 33: Alpine Antler
You will also start finding “named” item sets that are usually +2 levels above. For instance, level 25 areas have the “Eagle Eye” set. This is a better version of Deadeye and can carry you to max level gear, at level 33. However, it’s often time not worth spending hours and hours getting this gear just to move off of it in a few hours of gameplay. Therefore, collect, store but don’t sweat the minor bonuses from crafting gear.
If your survivability is good, swap rings to Ring of the Ancients. This ring gives stat bonus of +1 to all, which increases your damage and self-healing. This is one of the only rings that can do so. You can find it from the boss in Northern area called the Pike or via chest in Kindlewastes.
Best-in-Slot Bow Gear Setup
For the best gear setup for a Bow build in Enshrouded Update 8, use this armor:
- Head: Quetzal Hunter Helmet (crafted at Hunter)
- Chest: Skull Stalker Chest (crafted at Hunter)
- Arms: Quetzal Hunter Gloves (crafted at Hunter)
- Lower Body: Quetzal Hunter Pants (crafted at Hunter)
- Feet: Quetzal Hunter Shoes (crafted at Hunter)
- Rings: Gemini Ring (kill Banshee Moth’s Grove), Ring of the Ancients
Best Bow Weapons

| Item | Equipment | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Primary (Bow) | Ignited Bow | +5% Crit Chance +10% Fire Damage +10% Fire Damage Reaping +10% Fire Damage |
| Secondary (Dagger) | Oath Breaker | +10% Cutting Damage +10% Piercing Damage +10% Fire Damage 5% Crit Chance +10% Fire Damage |
| Healing (Staff) | Staff of the Moor | 5% Health Leech +10% Shroud Damage 5% Mana Leech +10% Shroud Damage 5% Stamina Leech |
| Wand (Mana Regen) | Polymath’s Wand | +10% Fire Damage +10% Fire Damage +20% Crit Strike Damage +10% Fire Damage +20% Crit Strike Damage |
| Shield | Prismatic Ward | 17 Block 268 Parry Power +7 Mana Regen +10% Ice Resistance +10 Shock Resistance |
The best bow for this build is the Ignited Bow because it has three lines of Fire Damage. This stacks with Pyromaniac and Arsonist skills in Wizard skill tree, which also benefits Explosive Arrows. The idea is that you will use explosive arrows (1-3) on tough boss fights or the hardest enemies in the game. Thus, stacking two skills to get a 30% bonus that coincides with your bow is the ultimate way to increase your overall damage per shot. You can take this same approach and build towards Shroud damage with Shroud arrows, but Fire has the most upside. Don’t worry about doing this complex setup while leveling. Check the Best Bows Ranked for Enshrouded.
Your secondary weapon is daggers for melee damage. The Oath Breaker dagger set gives fire damage, critical and fits with the overall theme of the build. You won’t be using these a lot, but it is helpful to play this style early with Crash Down skill and Battle Heal. As the game progresses, you can respec and take those skills out if you are 100% on the bow.
For Healing, use the Staff of the Moor with Heal Channel. It’s a great way to do 2-3 dodges (blink) get out of range and channel the heal. It can use excessive mana and allows you not to spam potions or bandages when taking damage. You can then equip a Wand for medium range encounter in order to get back more mana used for eternal ice arrow or more healing. Lastly, make sure you get a Prismatic Ward shield so you gain extra mana regen and resistance with the Wand equipped.
How to get Weapons

Most weapons are found randomly by killing bosses or looting chest. You cannot craft end game bows or daggers for this build. Thus, you should spend some time grinding in your current location and marking maps. If you take a look at the picture above, you can find gold chest and mark them which give the highest chance of legendary weapon drops. We have a chest farming guide here.
Therefore, you want to login, setup flame altars near these chest, and make a rotation killing bosses, opening gold chest, and finding that perfect weapon with your ideal trait. You can always go with health leech which is effective on every build and playstyle. Note, in update 8, chest will take a long time to respawn and the log out and log in trick will not work. Thus, do a sweep of the chest locations then do other gameplay before checking some hours later.
Early Game Options
Early on, you can craft Wooden Arrows from Twigs in your default crafting menu, same with Bow. This is your main source of damage early, but then you can expand your arrow arsenal with Hunter’s Ammo. However, these craftable arrows require more ingredients and aren’t that much more lethal than Wooden Arrows. Cooper is 8 damage per arrow while Wooden is 6. Thus, don’t sweat it if you can’t optimize for early games best arrows.
When it comes to upgrading your bow, look for gold and silver chest. You cannot directly craft them, so it’s a bit trickery. The easiest way to get a good bow early is the Fell Commander boss on the Ancient Bridge, due north from the beginning.
Mid Game Upgrades
During the middle portion of the game, the biggest damage upgrade you get is Explosive Arrows. These cost a lot of materials to make, but with the right skills and mulitshot, can do a massive amount of damage. You can also look for the Hunter’s Bow, Traitor’s Bow, and any other named unique via your questing.
End Game Best-in-Slot
The best end-game bow currently is the Avalanche Starter Bow. It has a unique bonus that steals health when you hit enemies. The harder and more damage you do, the more passive healing you have. Thus, you can drop the Gemini Rings when you get this bow due to the massive health return while being aggressive.
Overall, you can change various bows depending on your needs and playstyle. Don’t upgrade bows unless they are legendary and typically max level quality in game. In update 8, that’s level 50 once fully upgraded. You obtain these via gold chests in or around level 45 enemy zones.
Element and Arrow Type Guide

You should carry four elemental arrows on you at all times for a good Bow build in Enshrouded, and here’s why:
- Stun Arrow: these arrow fill up the stun bar of enemies (grey at top). It’s critical for beating the toughest bosses, particularly in the last zone where the Fell Dragon is your opponent. You can spam these, stun the boss, and get free damage. Stun Arrows work on random critters too, so bring some for every engagement.
- Explosive Arrow (I, II, III): The optimal big damage arrows that require skills like Ricochet and Chain Reaction. These skills and arrows add massive damage both AOE and single target. However, it can get very old crafting these so save for oh crap moments or boss kills.
- Shroud Arrow: the Bow main source of Damage Over Time (DOT) comes from Shroud Arrows. Shot this at a target, or at its feet for ticking damage over time.
- Flare Arrow: the Flare Arrow is mainly for utility when you need to see far ahead and don’t want to throw your torch into oblivion.
- Eternal Frost: gives you a decent damage arrow that can be used forever! Found in Hermit Camp (Blackmire Zone) which the Bard gives you a quest called Eternally Piercing.
Explosive Arrows and Damage Output
Explosive Arrows are the secret weapon for any Bow build looking to deal massive damage and control the battlefield in Enshrouded. Crafted from wooden arrows, black powder, and other key materials, these special arrows unleash devastating area-of-effect explosions that can wipe out groups of enemies in a single volley. Whether you’re facing a horde or a tough boss, having a stockpile of Explosive Arrows ensures you’re always ready to deliver optimal damage.
But the real magic happens when you combine Explosive Arrows with the Multi Shot Spread skill. This powerful synergy allows you to trigger multiple explosive projectiles at once, blanketing the battlefield and maximizing your crowd control potential. The result? Massive damage output and the ability to keep enemies at bay, no matter how many you’re up against.
Don’t forget to diversify your arsenal with other special arrows like Stun Arrows for disabling tough foes. The Ranger skill is another must-have for Bow, as it boosts your critical hit chance and critical hit damage, making every shot count, especially when using Explosive Arrows.
Best Bow Consumables and Buffs

| Food | Type | Duration | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taro Root Curry | Rare (Vegetable) | 55 min | +21% Ranged Damage +21% Dagger Damage +60 Mana |
| Chicken Soup | Uncommon (Meat) | 40 min | +6% Ranged Damage +6% Dagger Damage +160 Health |
| Strawberry Milkshake | Rare (Fruit) | 50 min | +18 Health Regen +12 Stamina Regen |
| Sweet Mokka | Uncommon (Liquid) | 55 min | +30 Stamina +30 Stamina Regeneration +6% Range Damage +6% Dagger Damage |
The best consumables for the Bow build are Taro Root Curry, Chicken Soup, Sweet Mokka, and Strawberry Milkshake. Your raw damage comes from ranged damage food, and you can stack health and stamina regeneration foods together. Also, your health food, chicken soup, has lower health than others, but another 6% ranged damage, thus making it a better choice.
Early in the game, you may want to consume a recovery food in place of the endurance food until you unlock the Milkshake at higher levels. With the extra food slot from the Dessert Stomach skill, these consumables are critical for the Ranger build or any Bow Build, which relies heavily on Dexterity and Intelligence to deal massive damage.
Best Bow Gems

If you’re using the fire damage setup with explosive arrows, then the Gem of Burning is the best. It triggers damage over time that last over 5 seconds at rank 30. With a five-second cooldown, you can have 100% uptime on this powerful DOT. Plus, the Gem of Burning is easy to get by killing Fell Banshee in the Springlands.
There are many other kinds of gems you can use. Gem of Storm’s Eye with Shock damage and Soaked bebuff can be powerful. Or for massive survivability increase, go with Gem of Battle Mania which grants regeneration when Elixir buff is active. Gem of Focused Light requires you to aim for a stacking debuff then fire. While it sounds good on paper, sitting there aiming without moving, interrupted, etc, just isn’t feasible and doesn’t apply or work often.
Rotation and Combat Tips for Bow
With the Bow build, you want to always aim for the head to get the headshot bonus. Depending on your gem, you can debuff the enemy as well simply by aiming at it. The opener can be a Shroud Arrow to get damage over time, swapping to a reusable Eternal Arrow or Explosive for optimal damage.
Starting out, use Daggers and Battle Heal for passive healing. Later on, swap to more bow playstyle once you get Gemini Ring(s). This will give you built in healing without smashing 100 healing potions. You can spec out of Crash Down, Battle Heal, etc. if you’re no longer using Dagger much in combat at higher levels. However, early on these skills are critical until you learn the bow, get explosive arrows, and more skills.
For survivability, use dodge and emergency blink to create space. Another trick is use double jump and Updraft to fly in the air if you’re on a flat surface. You can then drop down a safe distance away at the cost of stamina and shot until the enemy closes the distance. Always keep bandages with you for healing over time and potions. A staff with a healing spell can also be helpful if your mana is high.
For AOE damage, funnel mobs into a choke point like a door with Shroud Arrow. Then swap to Explosive if you have any and aim for the head. If you’re running out of arrows, use Eternal and block with a wand and shield when enemies get close.
Best Glider
The best Glider for this build in Enshrouded is the Ghost Glider. The Ghost Glider is a level 30 legendary glider with increased range and speed compared to others in the game. Unlike previous Gliders which can be crafted, you must find this one in a Gold Chest at the top of the South-East Sun Temple.
Travel south from the Kindlewaste Ancient Spire and past the Scatterbone Scavenger area. The Ghost Glider is through the temple which will require some fighting and puzzles.
