Attributes In The Elder Scrolls Online

The three main Attributes available in The Elder Scrolls Online are Health, Magicka, and Stamina. These are your primary resources that allow you to fight and survive in ESO’s fast-paced combat system.

• Health: determines the amount of damage you can take in combat before dying and how much healing you can receive.
• Magicka: determines the amount of magic-based abilities your character can use before running out of Magicka as well as the strength of those abilities.
• Stamina: determines the amount of stamina-based abilities your character can use before running out of Stamina as well as the strength of those abilities AND allows for other physical actions like Sprinting, Roll-dodging, Sneaking, Blocking, Bashing, or Breaking Free from crowd control.

The Best Attributes For Dragonknight Damage Dealers (DPS)

The priority of a Dragonknight DPS is to do as much damage to enemies as possible as quickly as possible. To do this you will want to stack one Attribute: either Stamina or Magicka. But how do you know which attribute to stack?

If most of your abilities cost Stamina to cast you should stack Stamina. This means your character is a “Stamina Build.” On the other hand, if most of your skills cost Magicka you should stack Magicka. This means your character is a “Magicka Build.”

Stacking into one resource as explained above will maximize the power of your abilities, letting damage skills do more damage and allowing healing skills to heal for more.

Dragonknights that want to focus on Magicka skills should put all 64 Attribute points into Magicka, while Dragonknights that want to focus on Stamina Skills should put all 64 Attribute points in Stamina.

The Best Attributes For Dragonknight Healers

The priority of a Dragonknight Healer build is to keep group members alive at all costs. To do this, Dragonknight Healers will most likely use Healing Skills that cost Magicka to cast. Therefore, Dragonknight Healers should put 64 Attribute Points into Magicka.

The Best Attributes For Dragonknight Tanks

The priority of a Dragonknight Tank build is to stay alive long enough to control enemies and protect teammates. To do this, Dragonknight Tanks will want to put the majority of their Attribute Points into Health, allowing them to take more damage.

If you have enough Health already as a Dragonknight Tank you can move some leftover Attribute Points into Magicka or Stamina to provide more resources to use your skills.

The Best Attributes For Solo Dragonknight Builds

It’s generally best to treat a Solo Dragonknight build as you would a Dragonknight DPS by stacking one Attribute, either Stamina or Magicka, to do as much damage as possible. Your choice of Stamina or Magicka should be determined by the majority of your active skills. More Stamina Skills will require more Stamina to cast and vice versa. Therefore, Solo Dragonknight builds should put 64 Attribute Points into either Stamina or Magicka depending on their choice of abilities.

How to Reset Attributes in ESO

If at any point you would like to change the allocation of your Attributes there are a few quick ways to do so. Players can use either the free Armory Station from the Crown Store placed within one of your player homes, use an Attribute Respecification Scroll, or use the appropriate Shrine of Rededication.
