ESO Night Market Zone Overview
The Night Market is not your typical overland zone for The Elder Scrolls Online. Instead, the Night Market is ESO’s first “event zone” tied to Season 0, built to be more challenging, more social by design, and more replayable than standard questing areas.
It’s also launching fast. Season 0 begins April 2, 2026, and the Night Market itself is set to launch April 29, 2026 (Dates are still subject to change).
Check out my video review of the 2026 Global Reveal stream for more details below.
Release Date and Duration
The Night Market is scheduled to launch on April 29, 2026, shortly after Season 0 begins on April 2, 2026. As an event zone, the Night Market will be available during specific periods of time, with the first iteration lasting around 7 weeks: from April 29, 2026, until June 17, 2026. The new zone can and will likely return later on in 2026 based on player feedback.
If you want an early look at most of the Season 0 content, ZOS also noted that much of what they discussed would be available on the Public Test Server ahead of launch, as early as Monday, January 12.
Night Market Location
The Night Market is located in Fargrave.
Fargrave is a demi-plane of Oblivion, also containing a city. The plane serves as both a crossroads and a neutral area for Daedra to congregate together, under the watch of the Grasp of the Stricture. Fargrave possesses permanent connections to other realms of Oblivion, including the Deadlands.
Once we learn more about how to travel to and from The Night Market we will update this section.

Night Market Content
The Night Market is described as a special event zone with a heavier focus on difficulty and group-oriented play.
It’s designed to encourage players to team up, but it’s not locked behind group requirements. You can enter solo if you want, and the zone is still accessible, but the challenge level should push more organic grouping.
Another big content hook is faction alignment. In the Night Market, there are multiple factions you can align with, which suggests that your time in the zone is meant to feel like more than a one-and-done quest chain. Even with only early details available, that “choose a side” structure is usually a sign the zone is built around repeat participation.

Night Market Factions
As mentioned, players must choose to align with one of three primary factions in the Night Market zone. This may determine possible quest chains as well as rewards. We will update this section soon once we learn more about each available faction in this zone.

Night Market Enemies
ZOS and the preview notes both frame the Night Market as more challenging overland content.
That tells us two important things about the enemy design, even without a full list of specific monster types yet:
First, the baseline enemy difficulty is higher than normal overland content. This is not meant to be steamrolled the way most standard zones are today.
Second, the zone is intended to pressure players into cooperation. That usually means you should expect enemy packs and encounters that punish lazy pulls, require more awareness, or include mechanics that feel closer to world events than casual quest mobs.
In some of the footage shown we saw returning enemy boss models such as the Void Lich from Vateshran Hollows.

Night Market Rewards
The Night Market is part of Season 0, and Season 0 is tied directly into ESO’s new reward structure.
The Night Market is launching alongside Season 0’s bigger ecosystem, including the first Tamriel Tome and the Gold Coast Bazaar. Tamriel Tomes introduce new reward unlocks with free and paid options, and the Bazaar expands item availability even further with players able to purchase unique items and cosmetics using ESO’s new currency: trade bars.
There will likely be several quests and achievements tied to the Night Market zone, perhaps even new item sets. One of the most exciting aspects though is the new player home which will be available, and also includes in built-in treasure vault / banker!

Night Market Tips
Based only on what we know so far, here’s the smartest way to think about it going in:
Expect higher difficulty than normal overland
If you walk in treating it like a typical zone, you’re probably going to have a bad time. Build for survivability, sustain, and real damage.
Be willing to group up
The zone is designed to encourage grouping. You can go solo, but you’ll likely have a smoother experience by grouping or at least following the lead of other players who may be more experienced.
Pay attention to factions
Multiple faction alignment options exist in the Night Market, so pay attention to NPC interactions. Even if the system ends up being straightforward, it’s likely tied to how the zone’s progression or rewards are structured.
