How to Get the Velothi Ur-Mages Amulet Mythic
To get the Velothi Ur-Mages Amulet, you will need to discover 5 fragments requiring leads. These five leads need to be dug up as part of the Antiquities system, therefore, you will need the Greymoor Chapter or ESO+. Once unlocked, you must level your antiquity skill lines to at least level 7, specifically Excavation. Once done, you can unlock “gold leads” and thus begin hunting your overpowered amulet!
To get any of the 5 fragments of the Velothi Ur-Mages Amulet make sure you are in the same zone as where the Lead was obtained, then open your Antiquities Codex to select the correct Lead and Scry for its location. Once at the correct location, you will be able to Excavate the Lead. Obtaining each lead may require several attempts, as the drop is not guaranteed on the first try.
Once you have Excavated all 5 Mythic Fragments at their respective dig site, the Velothi Ur-Mages Amulet will be automatically placed into your inventory.
Velothi Ur-Mages Amulet Lead Locations
The five lead locations for Velothi Ur-Mage’s Amulet are located throughout Tamriel, with all dig locations in the Telvanni Peninsula. This is part of the Necrom chapter, but expect to travel around hunting world bosses, delve bosses, and a tough dungeon trophy chest. The Ebony Crossed-Sword Chain lead is obtained from daily quests in Vivec City. Below are all the lead locations for Velothi Ur-Mages Amulet:
| Lead (Fragments) | Drop Location | How to get the Lead |
|---|---|---|
| Ebony Crossed-Sword Chain | Vvardenfell | World Boss Daily Coffers |
| Ebony Shalk Mounting | Apocrypha | World Boss – Runemaster Xiomara |
| Gold Mandibular Cradle | Telvanni Peninsula | Delve Boss – Cammonaruhn |
| Gold Shalk Clasp | Scrivener’s Hall | Scrivener’s Hall Dungeon Trophy Room Chests |
| Lucent Cabochon | Apocrypha | Public Dungeon Bosses – The Underweave |
How to get Ebony Crossed-Sword Chain Lead

To get Ebony Crossed-Sword Chain lead, you will need to complete daily boss coffer quests found in Vivec City, Hall of Justice vendor in the Vvardenfell zone. There are two separate quests you can do once per day, per character. Therefore, you can rotate with various characters all giving a percentage chance to drop the lead. A tip for obtaining the Ebony Crossed-Sword Chain lead is partnering with a friend and having them share the quest. This allows you to do more quests per character so you’re not likely to run out of characters.
How to get Ebony Shalk Mounting Lead

To get Ebony Shalk Mounting Lead, kill Runemaster Xiomara, the Runemaster’s Acropolis World Boss in the Apocrypha zone. The boss is on a roughly five minute timer, so you can camp the spot if it doesn’t drop initially. Make sure to at least get one hit on the boss or as much damage as possible to get the drop chance.
Beating the Runemaster Xiomara can be difficult solo. During the fight, the boss will channel an attack that does a large amount of damage. Make sure to interrupt, and clear the crystals at the edge of the map. Look at the HP of the crystals because they can be invulnerable depending on kill order. Rinse and repeat to get the lead!
How to get Gold Mandibular Cradle Lead

To get Gold Mandibular Cradle Lead, kill the large beetle boss in Cammonnaruhn delve. The delve only has one boss, and you need to rotate around the delve to get to the top level in order to find the boss. Once there, camp the boss which is on roughly a five minute respawn timer.
How to get Gold Shalk Clasp Lead

To get Gold Shalk Clasp Lead you will need to unlock chest within the Trophy Room inside Scriverner’s Hall dungeon. You can get keys to open chest by killing scamps called Cartoklept. These mini bosses are often on the sides of the dungeon, off the beaten path. Look for small glowing green tunnels and head in the back to locate the scamps. You can get small keys for normal mode on the dungeon or large for veteran mode.
Once you have one or more keys, you return to the start of the dungeon. An NPC will say so “you’ve killed the boss,” and unlock the door for you. Proceed through the dungeon and open the chest with a chance at obtaining the lead.
How to get Lucent Cabochon Lead

To get Lucent Cabochon Lead, defeat Underweave public dungeon bosses for a chance to drop the lead. The easiest way to get the lead is parking your character ontop of the first boss which is located on the ground floor called Creepclaw. He has around 480k hit points and is easy to kill with a roughly five minute respawn timer. Stay there and farm him or move around throughout the public dungeon on a loop to get the lead drop.
Who should use the Velothi Ur-Mage’s Amulet?
The best class for Velothi Ur is the Arcanist because of it’s long channel and limited need for light or heavy attacks. Additionally, the Templar is another great choice due to it’s long channeled attacks. However, any class can use this in PvE thanks to a 15% damage bonus to enemies!
Can Velothi Ur-Mage’s be used in PvP?
While Veloth Ur can be used in PvP, it isn’t as good as other mythic. Partly because the mythic main bonus, 15% to NPC, only works in PvE. You can use many other options to get better defensive or offensive bonuses, but it can work for some extra penetration and minor force buff.
Can you wear Velothi Ur-Mage’s with Oakensoul or other Mythics?
No, you can only wear one mythic at a time, thus Velothi Ur cannot be combined with any other mythic.
