Overview of the Ninja Job (Class)
The Ninja is a high-speed, evasive physical damage class that excels at dual-wielding weapons and hit-and-run tactics. With access to Throw for ranged pressure and high speed stat, Ninjas deal fast, consistent damage and make excellent physical finishers. Their high Speed stat makes them top-tier for turn efficiency, and their utility as a JP farming or stat-leveling class makes them valuable even outside of combat.
Why Use the Ninja
- Naturally dual wields weapons without needing a support ability
- Can learn Dual Wield support ability on other Jobs
- Highest Speed growth in the game (great for leveling)
- Access to ranged Throw attacks with no charge time
- Reflexes provides excellent evasion defense
- Very mobile with innate high movement and Jump
Cons
- Fragile: low HP and no armor access
- Throw ability loses usefulness later in the game
- Moderate JP costs, but full kit isn’t always necessary
- Weak to magic and AoE if not positioned carefully
Best Time to Use
- Useful when combined with high burst classes (Samurai, Monk, Lancer) or item builds
- Excellent mid- to late-game physical damage dealer
- Great job to level in due to superior Speed growth
How to Unlock the Ninja
To unlock the Ninja, you must reach Archer level 4, Thief level 5, and Geomancer Level 3. The Thief and the Archer can be leveled after reaching 2 with the Squire. However, the Gemoancer will require you to reach level 2 with the Knight then level 3 with the Monk before unlocking that Job. Here are the steps to unlocking the Ninja in Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles:
- Squire Level 2
- Archer Level 4
- Thief Level 5
- Knight Level 2

Tips for Using Ninja Abilities
Below are some other tips and tricks for Ninja Abilities:
- Dual-wielding with Two Swords is one of the strongest melee options in the game, especially with strong weapons like Knight Swords or katanas.
- Reflexes is a top-tier Reaction Ability when paired with high evade gear like cloaks and mantles.
- Use Throw to safely poke enemies from range early game; later, it can be a backup for hitting hard-to-reach units.
- Ninja has the best Speed growth in the game—leveling in this job greatly benefits physical units long-term.
- Great combo job for units who want to act fast and hit twice, such as Monks, Lancers, or Samurais with strong single-hit abilities.
- Due to their low HP, avoid grouping them in AoE zones or front-lining without support.
