DLC Dungeon Pack: Scribes Of Fate
Gather your allies and venture into brand-new four-player PvE dungeons: Bal Sunnar and Scrivener’s Hall. In these dungeons, you discover two unique stories that kick off the larger Shadow Over Morrowind adventure, leading into the upcoming Necrom Prologue and Necrom Chapter release later this year.
Bal Sunnar
The Telvanni township of Bal Sunnar has begun emanating mysterious temporal magics, and the Psijic Order needs your help investigating this dangerous phenomenon. However, House Telvanni is not fond of outsiders meddling in its business and stand ready to defend its secrets at any cost.

Scrivener’s Hall
The Scribes of Mora were once a peaceful organization dedicated to the collection of information on behalf of the Lord of Knowledge, Hermaeus Mora. However, a sinister new leader has usurped control over the cult and threatens to lead the Scribes of Mora down a dangerous path.
Team up with the Scribes of Mora’s former leader, Keshargo, and travel between realms as he seeks a powerful relic that is key to reclaiming his position as Magnastylus. As you do this, you also need to stop the ambitious Valinna before she can forever damn the souls of her followers. Discover more about Scrivener’s Hall’s dangers, settings, and rewards in this preview.

Light Attack Changes in Update 37
Combat changes are another huge part of the Update 37 base game patch that you need to know about! One of the biggest combat changes has to do with yet more tweaking to light attack damage, specifically: Increased scaling of all weapon Light Attacks by 50% and Werewolf Light Attacks by 20% – and a new stat scaling limit on these attacks so they stop benefitting from Weapon or Spell Damage and Magicka or Stamina after reaching 3850 damage for weapons and 4813 for Werewolf.
What this essentially means is that for lower stat builds your light attack damage will be drastically improved for higher end builds your light attacks may do slightly less damage due to the new capped value. From the developer comment:
The end result is that Light Attacks will now scale much more aggressively with your stats, inflating their damage for non-optimized builds, without changing their damage too much at their ceiling end (some of the super optimized raid environments may lose ~100-200 base damage on Light Attacks).

Improvement For Tank Builds
Tanks got some very nice changes this patch, hopefully making the tank role a bit easier especially in challenging encounters.
- The first change is that bar swapping no longer drops block – amazing! This is a great change for all players in fact as I’m sure all of us have died at some point thanks to bar swapping at the wrong time.
- Second is that Abilities and item sets that pull a single target will now also attempt to taunt the target for 15 seconds if they are not already affected by a player taunt. This includes: Beckoning Armor, Fiery Grip and Unrelenting Grip, Silver Leash and the Swarm Mother set.
For clarification we got the following dev comment:
Now when you use an ability against a target, it will check if the target is already taunted; if they are not, it will taunt them. If they are already taunted, it will continue to pull the target and all of the other listed effects, but the taunt from the pull will not apply. This should help give more power of control to those who need to taunt targets, while simultaneously allowing non-tanks to still utilize these abilities without getting clobbered in situations such as the Twins in Maw of Lorkhaj.
Class Changes in Update 37
Many important and impactful changes are also hitting several ESO Classes in update 37. The biggest changes are outlined below:
Dragonknight
1. Helping Hands
- This passive now requires the ability cost of what triggered it to be greater than the restored amount of Stamina, to prevent situations where you could gain more Stamina than you had spent as Magicka.
- Rank 1 of the ability now shares the same value as Rank 2, but has a cooldown of 2 seconds rather than once every cast.
- Increased the restored amount of Stamina to 1120, up from 990.
2. Fiery Grip
Empowering ChainsChains of Devastation: This morph now grants Major Berserk for 4 seconds after casting, rather than Empower, as Molten Armaments already grants it in a much more effect way. As such, this morph was renamed to better denote its effects. Such devastation was our intention.
3. Shackle
- Increased the damage of this synergy by 20% to ensure it stands up to other Ultimate synergies’ power.
Necromancer
1. Boneyard
- Graverobber (morph): Reduced the damage of this synergy by approximately 34% to ensure it is of similar power to other synergies of its ilk, such as Conduit or Combustion.
2. Death Gleaning
- This passive now restores 333/666 Magicka and Stamina when a nearby enemy dies, up from 100/200.
Sorcerer
1. Conjured Ward
- Increased the damage shield size of this ability and the Regenerative Ward morph by 10%.
- Increased the Max Health cap of these abilities to 55%, up from 50%.
- This ability and its morphs now dynamically scale between the higher of your Max Health or Magicka, rather than only Magicka.
2. Hardened Ward
- Increased the damage shield size of this morph by approximately 7% and increased the Max Health cap to 72%, up from 60%.
3. Regenerative Ward
- Renamed this morph to prevent confusion with the buff type.
4. Mage’s Wrath
- This morph now deals its execute damage to all targets nearby, rather than dealing an initial hit and a smaller amount of damage to nearby targets. This will result in an approximate 129% damage increase of the Area of Effect, while also causing the ability to appear under the same ability ID for combat logs.
Templar
1. Empowered Sweep (now Everlasting Sweep)
- Increased the duration of the pulsing Damage over Time to 10 seconds at base, up from 6 seconds.
- This morph no longer grants Empower, as Solar Flare and its morphs already grant this buff. As such, the name has been adjusted to prevent confusion.
Warden
1. Crystallized Shield
- This ability and the Shimmering Shield morph now grant 2 Ultimate when the shield takes damage, rather than restoring Magicka equal to 22% of the ability’s cost.
- Increased the cost of this ability and its morphs to 4320, up from 3780.
- Reduced the shield strength of this ability and the Shimmering Shield morph by approximately 33%.
2. Crystallized Slab
- This morph no longer grants Magicka or the new Ultimate restore when the shield takes damage, in exchange for the damage done and stun. This morph does retain the original size of the damage shield.
- Reduced the damage per hit of this morph by approximately 33%.
Wrecking Blow Changes
On to weapon skill changes next and the BIG ONE here you need to know about is Two Hander Wrecking Blow now getting the Major Berserk buff for 5 seconds! I personally love this change as it makes front bar Two Hander builds suddenly much more interesting in terms of maxing out your damage. You can also choose to slot Wrecking Blow as a main spammable or simply use the skill once every 5 seconds or so to buff the rest of your skills. I really like this flexibility!
You can see an example of the new version of this skill in action below.
Vampire & Werewolf Changes
Vampires and Werewolves got some surprisng changes in update 37 as well! Starting with Vampire and their completely reworked Mistform ability. This is in my opinion the most controversial change this patch as it does change the format of the skill completely. Mistform and its morphs now teleport you to the position of your cursor, up to a maximum of 15 meters away, and reduce your damage taken from the next 3 projectiles by 100% while teleporting. Casting any of these abilities will increase the cost of the ability by 33% for 4 seconds.
- Elusive Mist grants major expedition and major evasion for 4 seconds after the skill
- Blood Mist now gives you a 20 second heal.
Werewolves got a few minor tweaks in that Howl of Despair now allows the caster to self-synergize with Feeding Frenzy. and Feeding Frenzy which is that synergy now grants Minor Force and Empower for 10 seconds, rather than only Empower for 5 seconds.
On paper this sounds like an awesome change for werewolf especially if you don;t want to use the oakensoul ring but keep in mind that the cooldown on synergies in ESO is 20 full seconds which means you can only get a 50% uptime on these important buffs while solo. definitely a disappointing change for soloists out there.
Jewelry Glyphs & Traits
Jewelry Glyphs and Traits also got some important changes this patch with one of my favorite changes being the update to weapon and spell damage glyphs – this is that Physical Harm and Glyph of Spell Harm now grant BOTH Weapon and Spell Damage together rather than only Weapon or Spell Damage!
- Physical Harm glyphs now add 10 Stamina Recovery as well at all qualities, while Spell Harm glyphs now add 10 Magicka Recovery at all qualities.
The developer comment states:
In aims to continue our work on hybridization, we’re merging these enchantments to grant hybrid stats. However, we still want to retain some semblance of differentiation with these glyphs so we don’t need to remove them from existence (this would actually cause a lot more problems than it seems), so we’re adding some very small bonuses to each. This bonus will be small enough that you shouldn’t feel the need to take one over the other, but if you’re really trying to optimize you can play around with either to get that extra bit of power.

And for you necro bombers out there we already talked about the graeyard change but this one maybe hurts even more: This trait now grants you up to 880 Health, Magicka, and Stamina when you activate a synergy per trait, rather than increasing the healing, damage, and shielding potency of synergies by 20% per trait.
In the developer comment ZOS said:
This trait is currently far too niche for its intended use and is meant to be an enhancer to the Undaunted skill line and group play, but ironically is being utilized more by solo builds in PvP to instantly obliterate large groups. We’re shifting this trait over to be more recovery focused, which has much more use potential between PvE and PvP, rather than trying to continue making a value that doesn’t add more insta-gibbing potential but still has impact enough in PvE.
