How to Recruit Inez

To find Inez, start by heading to the Ministry Of Accuracy on the planet Eden, where she is first located after the tutorial. Look for quest markers that guide you to her initial meeting point. After this, travel to paradise island, a key location where you can interact with Inez and undertake related missions.
Once you return to Fairfield and speak to Milverstreet, Inez will be present. To progress the recruitment, make sure to talk to Inez directly. During this process, you may also need to meet Willard Konnen, who provides important information or access for Inez’s questline. After recruiting her, visit Tinsley’s lab to obtain implants or grafts for Inez, which are essential for her character development.
Inez’s Abilities

Inez’s ability, called The Magic Bullet, changes its effect based on the graft you choose for Inez: choose the Raptidon Graft for more healing or the Crabble Graft for more damage. With the Crabble Graft, The Magic Bullet allows Inez to fire a volley of hot plasma at enemies, making her a strong offensive companion.
She also has two unique traits: Combat Drugs, which increases her rate of fire and accuracy and Unlicensed Chemist, which increases the amount of Inhaler Charges received.
The Magic Bullet (Companion Ability)
Inez has two options for her Companion Ability based on which graft you choose. The Raptidon Graft allows Inez to cloak and retreat to your position, throwing down a canister of healing mist. The Crabble Skeleton Graft allows her to fire armor piercing attacks at enemies.
Inez’s ability must be fully charged for it to be activated.
Combat Drugs (Companion Trait)
Inez has a set of drugs on her body that helps to regulate her graft and improve her performance in combat. At the start of each combat her drugs are automatically injected, temporarily increasing her rate of fire and accuracy.
Unlicensed Chemist (Companion Trait)
While Inez is in the party, the amount of Inhaler Chargers you receive from drugs is increased.
Inez Perks

Companions can choose one of two perks every five levels, up to level 30. This gives Companions a total of 6 perks which define their build and playstyle. Inez’s Quest & Rewards

Companion quests in The Outer Worlds 2 are more than optional content—they’re essential for keeping allies close and unlocking their true potential. Ignoring or mishandling them may lead to party splits in the late game.
There was a known bug where Inez could go missing during her quest, making her unavailable for recruitment, but this issue has been fixed in a recent hotfix.
With confirmation from Obsidian that these quests are back, watch for updates as we learn more about Inez’s questline and its narrative impact.
The Most Extraordinary Specimen Quest
The Most Extraordinary Specimen quest stands out as a defining chapter in Inez’s storyline and is essential for recruiting Inez as a companion in Outer Worlds 2. This quest becomes available after you complete the Better Than Nature quest, marking a turning point in your journey to assemble all the companions in the game.
To begin the quest, head to the Algid Menagerie—a sprawling, dangerous facility teeming with unique creatures and advanced security drones. Here, you’ll encounter Giles Rasmussen, a pivotal figure whose fate is in your hands. As you explore the menagerie, you’ll need to interact with Rasmussen, uncovering secrets about Inez’s past and the experiments that shaped her. The choices you make—whether to kill or spare Rasmussen—will have lasting consequences on Inez’s personal quest and her relationship with your party.
During this quest, it’s highly recommended to equip Inez with the Mechanical Augmentation graft. This upgrade significantly boosts her healing and buffing abilities, making her an even more effective combat medic as you face off against formidable enemies and navigate the menagerie’s hazards. The quest is packed with challenging encounters, including swarms of drones and the most extraordinary specimen itself, testing your combat skills and strategic use of Inez’s abilities.
Completing The Most Extraordinary Specimen quest not only rewards you with valuable experience points but also unlocks new companion perks for Inez, enhancing her role in your party. Your decisions here will shape Inez’s future in Outer Worlds 2, so choose wisely as you navigate the moral dilemmas and dangers of the Algid Menagerie.
Inez’s Personal Quest Endings
Inez’s personal quest endings in Outer Worlds 2 are deeply influenced by your choices throughout her companion quests, especially during The Most Extraordinary Specimen and Better Than Nature. The outcome of these quests determines not only Inez’s fate but also her ongoing relationship with your party and her effectiveness as a companion.
The pivotal moment comes when you must decide the fate of Giles Rasmussen. Choosing to kill Dr. Rasmussen typically earns Inez’s approval, leading to a positive resolution for her personal quest. This path often results in Inez unlocking new abilities and perks, solidifying her role as a powerful combat medic and loyal ally. On the other hand, sparing Rasmussen may cause Inez to question your judgment, potentially resulting in a less favorable outcome and even straining her relationship with other companions.
Your journey with Inez begins when you first meet her at the town hall in Fairfield. Here, a conversation with Inez reveals more about her background, motivations, and the unique grafts that define her abilities. Dialogue options during these interactions are crucial – they can influence Inez’s trust in you and her willingness to join your party. As you progress, you’ll need to use key items like the healing mist canister to support Inez during critical moments, especially when facing tough enemies such as the skeleton crabble and raptidon matriarch.
Strategic use of the ursopod graft can grant Inez and your party temporary max health, making her an even more effective combat medic during intense battles. Throughout the main quest and her personal storyline, you’ll encounter a variety of challenges, from mysterious caves and vox relays to swarms of drones and the formidable mantiswarm hive graft. Each decision, from fighting enemies to choosing dialogue options, shapes Inez’s journey and the ultimate outcome of her quest.
Completing Inez’s personal quest not only provides closure to her story but also unlocks powerful new perks and abilities, making her an indispensable member of your team. Whether you’re recruiting Inez for her healing prowess or her combat skills, your choices will determine her legacy in Outer Worlds 2.
