Factions play a much larger role in Solasta 2 than simple quest givers or background lore. As you explore Neokos and your party grows in strength, the major powers of the continent begin paying attention to your choices. Some factions may become allies while others may become enemies.
This guide breaks down all currently known factions in Solasta 2, explains their history and ideology, and explores how faction reputation and companions are likely to shape the overall campaign in Solasta 2.

Solasta 2 Factions Summary
| Faction | Description |
|---|---|
| The Beacon | A surviving remnant of the Manacalon Empire, ruling from the fortress city of Caer Mar through diplomacy enforced by strict law and military power. |
| The Argad Republic | A volatile republic born from a slave revolt, valuing personal freedom above all while struggling with political instability and internal contradictions. |
| The Combers | A largely neutral guild of finders, traders, and researchers specializing in locating rare items, information, and forgotten secrets. |
| The Ka’Umm | Ancient nomadic tribes who value wisdom, harmony, and magic over wealth, following traditions that predate the Cataclysm. |

The Beacon
The Beacon is one of the most historically powerful factions on Neokos. Originally founded as an overseas expedition of the Manacalon Empire, the Beacon arrived with the goal of destabilizing the Siklas Empire through covert intelligence work, staged revolts, and overwhelming arcane force supported by enslaved labor.
Their expansion was swift and effective, allowing them to seize nearly half the continent before everything collapsed during the Cataclysm. Arcane dominance failed, enslaved armies revolted, and reinforcements from Ferendragh never arrived. Forced into retreat, the Beacon consolidated its remaining power in the northern peninsula.
Today, the Beacon survives through a mix of fortified geography and political realism. Their stronghold, Caer Mar, is nearly impossible to assault without catastrophic losses, leading rival factions to tolerate their existence rather than attempt outright destruction.
Caer Mar is ruled by Lady Anabasia, whose leadership blends diplomacy with uncompromising authority. The city is open to travelers and merchants from all factions, but order is absolute. A careless word, insult, or political misstep can still result in long-term imprisonment.

The Argad Republic
The Argad Republic emerged from the chaos following the Cataclysm, named after Argad Ironfist, leader of the great slave revolt. Rather than a unified nation, the Republic is an ideological coalition bound together by a shared devotion to personal freedom.
Argad society is deeply contradictory. While slavery and inherited rule are despised, equality often applies only to fellow Argads. Outsiders are treated with suspicion, and the Republic’s expansion has created internal power imbalances where some citizens are clearly more equal than others.
Religion within the Republic is highly diverse, though Misaye holds a favored position. Major settlements prominently display Copper Tablets of the Declaration of Misaye and the Free, embedding Argad ideology directly into public spaces.
Politically, the Republic is famously volatile. Power is divided between two Consuls overseeing civilian and military matters, supported by thirteen Senators and ratified by the Tribunes of the Hundred. Endless debate has resulted in two dominant political movements, one advocating military strength and the other favoring commerce.
Bard Colleges play a vital role in Argad stability. Loved by common folk and constantly traveling, bards gather information, expose corruption, and uncover external interference, functioning as an informal intelligence network in a system with weak central authority.
The Combers
The Combers are the closest thing Neokos has to a neutral faction. They are a loose organization of professional finders, traders, and researchers who specialize in locating goods, artifacts, and information of all kinds.
Inspired by stories of the Scavengers of Ferendragh, the Combers built a similar system adapted to their own continent. Membership is practical rather than ideological. Former allegiances are ignored, appearances do not matter, and personal histories are rarely questioned.
Early Combers often delved into ruins themselves, but over time the guild adapted, hiring adventurers to take on the most dangerous work. Despite being dismissed by some as junk collectors, the Combers are unrivaled when it comes to finding specific items or obscure knowledge.
The guild also employs scholars who analyze recovered texts, relics, and maps. Their research often leads to the discovery of hidden doors, secret chambers, and forgotten vaults, though such assistance always comes at a price.

The Ka’Umm
The Ka’Umm claim to be the oldest inhabitants of Neokos, and their culture reflects an ancient, spiritual worldview. Rather than forming a centralized nation, they exist as nomadic tribes that roam the land along paths known only to them.
Ka’Umm tribes are found throughout the continent and are largely self-sufficient. Most travel on foot, sometimes hauling wagons themselves, resulting in a physically resilient population. Magic is central to their way of life, with nearly every tribe including at least one druid or wizard.
Tribal identity is fluid. Members may leave one tribe to join another, and tribes often split when they grow too large or internal tensions arise. Most consist of roughly 50 to 150 individuals.
Wealth among the Ka’Umm is measured in wisdom and relationships rather than gold. Trade relies on barter, gifts, and favors, while precious metals are treated as decorative rather than valuable.
Spiritually, the Ka’Umm worship Arun and Maraike alongside their ancient belief in the Dream Song, a cosmic harmony they believe binds the universe together. Their language reflects this worldview, judging character through concepts of harmony, resonance, and listening.

Faction Reputation and Consequences
Based on what we know from the first Solasta, faction reputation in Solasta 2 is likely to be far more than a simple approval meter. Player choices previously affected quest access, vendors, and story outcomes, and Solasta 2 appears to expand this system significantly.
Factions now actively evaluate your party’s disposition as your influence grows. This suggests reputation thresholds that unlock or block questlines, services, and even entire locations. Supporting one faction may strain relations with another, especially given Neokos’s turbulent history.
Diplomatic factions like the Beacon may reward restraint and lawful behavior while punishing recklessness. The Argad Republic may favor bold action and ideological alignment but react poorly to authoritarian decisions. The Combers are likely to value reliability and results, while the Ka’Umm may judge players based on respect, wisdom, and harmony rather than wealth or power.

Factions and Companions
Companions in Solasta 2 are closely tied to the faction system. Unlike generic hirelings, companions are fully realized characters with their own beliefs, backgrounds, and faction affiliations. As a result, faction decisions directly affect who is willing to join your party.
Your core party is built around custom-created characters, but you can recruit companions during your journey. At any given time, up to two companions can join your active party, making companion choices an important aspect of combat and party balance in Solasta 2.
Some companions may only become available if your reputation with their associated faction is high enough. Others may refuse to join, or even leave, if your actions consistently conflict with their values.

How to play the Solasta 2 demo
A playable Solasta 2 demo is available now on Steam.
The demo is a focused vertical slice that showcases combat, exploration, party interaction, and overall presentation, including voice acting quality. It uses pre-built characters so players can focus on learning systems rather than optimizing builds.
Progress does not carry over, but the demo is the best hands-on way to see how Solasta 2 feels ahead of Early Access.
As Tactical Adventures reveals more cast members or clarifies roles, this page will be updated to reflect the complete Solasta 2 voice actors list.
