Accio, the Summoning Charm, is a Force Spell in Hogwarts Legacy used to pull enemies towards the caster but can also be used for a variety of puzzle solving tasks like pulling switches and moving objects!
Introduction to Accio, the Summoning Charm
In Hogwarts Legacy, Accio is one of four Force Spells which are focused on pushing and pulling both enemies and objects. Accio in particular is used for pulling enemies and objects closer to you which has plenty of application for combat, transversal and puzzle solving.

How to unlock Accio
Accio is taught to players in Hogwarts Legacy by Abraham Ronen, Hogwart’s resident professor of Charms, near the start of the game as part of your first Charms class. As the school year begins, Ronen notices that his students seem to have forgotten even their most basic spells and challenges them to perform Accio in the classroom to pass books to one another.
After learning the basics of Accio, players in Hogwarts Legacy will be transported outside via a cutscene and then participate in a game of Summoner’s Court to practice the spell further. There is no additional reward for winning Summoner’s Court against Natsai, but the game does do a fantastic job in helping teach players the finer details of using Accio, especially holding and releasing the spell for greater control.

How to use Accio in Hogwarts Legacy
Accio is used for several in-game actions in Hogwarts Legacy including:
Moving enemies closer to you in combat
Triggering switches
Collecting Field Guides
Moving crates and boxes
Summoning floating platforms
Don’t be afraid to experiment with Accio! It’s one of the most useful spells in Hogwarts Legacy and is especially good for solving puzzles and reaching hidden areas!

Using Accio in Combat
Accio is an especially potent spell for early combat in Hogwarts Legacy. Using Accio against an enemy will pull them towards you, causing them to float in the air for roughly 4-5 seconds while also stunning them. During this time the enemy will not be able to move or perform any additional attacks. As a purple-colored Force Spell, Accio can also be used to break purple enemy shields.
One of the best Spell Combos that you can perform with Accio is casting the spell to bring an enemy close, then using Incendio to light them on fire. Because Incendio has such a short casting distance, using Accio beforehand to bring an enemy within close range is essential.

Collecting Field Guides Pages with Accio
The Accio Spell in Hogwarts Legacy is the only way to collect most flying Field Guide Pages that players will find around Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade. Simply target the flying page with your wand and cast Accio to immediately pull the page to you and add it to your collection. This is one of the BEST early ways to Level Up in the game as well, as each Field Guide Page you collect will grant you 80 Experience Points.
Summoning Platforms
Many movement-based puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy rely on using Accio to summon floating platform. You may for example find a ledge with a metallic or otherwise conspicuous-looking platform on the other side. Simply use Accio in this case to summon the platform to you and jump on, then continue using the Spell to pull yourself to the other side. This is particularly useful in Jackdaw’s Cave which is an early story dungeon in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to move objects with Accio
Accio has a secret! Not only can the Summoning Charm bring objects to you, but if you continue to hold the spell many objects will remain floating and can then be moved if you walk to another area. Using this extremely helpful function for Accio will let you solve many puzzles in game where an object needs to be moved from one room to another or placed in a specific spot such as on a floor trigger.
