Starfield Skill Trees
The five skill trees available to players in Starfield are Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Tech.
Physical
Physical Skills offer a wide variety of effects and abilities that cover mostly what the human body can perform. Investing skill points into the Physical skill tree will increase the durability of your character, while also providing boosts to the physically demanding activities you will be performing traveling. There are 16 Physical skills in total.
Social
Social Skills in Starfield cover a wide variety of interaction options that you utilize when interacting with the variety of characters that you will come across in your travels. These include, but aren’t limited to, buffing your Companion’s stats, bartering, increasing crew capacity, stealing, obtaining more credits while searching, and much more. There are 16 Social skills in total.
Combat
Combat Skills cover a wide variety of interaction options for combat while not on your spaceship. Investing skill points into the Combat skill tree is going to increase the deadliness of your character by expanding the understanding of different types of combat, from Unarmed to Ballistics. There are 17 Combat skills in total.
Science
Science Skills help you discover the various mysteries of the Settled Systems. These skills aid in exploration and expanding the understanding of how the world works be it through studying minerals, flora/fauna, or grappling with the challenges of settling other planets. There are 16 Science skills in total.
Tech
Tech Skills cover a variety of abilities, but mostly they involve assisting you with navigating around the Settled Systems and protecting yourself while onboard your ship. Investing skill points into the Tech skill tree is going to improve your journeys between systems and make sure that Spacers or Pirates aren’t going to prevent the exploration. There are 17 Tech skills in total.
