1. Order’s Wrath
Order’s Wrath stands as our #1 crafted set for overall performance in The Elder Scrolls Online. It provides universal bonuses to both damage and healing, making it the go-to choice for DPS players and Soloists.

Order’s Wrath
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(3 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(4 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(5 items) Adds 943 Critical Chance, Increases your Critical Damage and Critical Healing by 8%.
What Makes It So Strong:
- The 5-piece bonus delivers high critical chance, critical damage, and critical healing that works for both magicka abilities and stamina builds alike.
- These stats are always active with no proc condition or ramp-up time – you simply equip the gear and gain the full benefit immediately.
- It synergizes with virtually every class and playstyle in the game, from heavy attack builds to fast-paced spammable rotations, as Critical Chance and Critical Damage apply to all damage types, from single-target to AOE to damage over time.
Crafting Requirements:
- Only requires 3 traits to craft, making it one of the most accessible craftable set options in the game.
- Crafted at the Steadfast Hammer and Saw location in High Isle (High Isle Chapter required).
- Can be made in any weight and any weapon type to suit your build.
Best Use Cases:
- Normal Dungeon or Solo Arenas where encounters vary in length and mechanics.
- Easier Solo content like Maelstrom Arena and Vateshran Hollows.
- Healers who want to boost their critical healing output alongside standard healing power.
- New players who need a single great set that works everywhere on most builds.
Recommended Pairings:
- Use the Thief Mundus Stone to push critical chance even higher.
- Combine with dungeon sets or trial sets later as you progress – Order’s Wrath remains viable as a “first half” of any build.
2. Tide-Born Wildstalker
Tide-Born Wildstalker claims the #2 spot as the best crafted set specifically designed for direct damage PvE builds. If your rotation centers around channel abilities or beam attacks (specifically direct damage coded), or single-target and AOE burst rather than damage-over-time effects, this set delivers amazing results!

Tide-Born Wildstalker
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(3 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(4 items) Adds 1497 Offensive Penetration
(5 items) Increases your direct damage done to monsters by 12%.
What Makes it Good:
- Provides a significant boost to direct damage dealt against monsters.
- This bonus applies to skills you might expect, like Force Pulse, Crystal Fragments, and other abilities that deal damage in a single hit rather than ticking over time, but also applies to most channeled abilities such as Arcanist’s Fatecarver beam and Templar’s Puncturing Sweeps.
Crafting Requirements:
- Crafted at Solstice set stations in the Solstice zone.
- Access requires the Seasons of the Worm Cult Content Pass (the current seasonal content offering).
- Trait requirements are accessible for most intermediate crafters.
Best Use Cases:
- Arcanist builds centered around Fatecarver, which deals massive direct damage when fully charged.
- Any class running a direct damage spammable as their primary source of DPS.
- Players who want to improve their damage output without farming trials or dungeon gear sets.
How It Compares to Order’s Wrath:
- Tide-Born Wildstalker is more specialized and parse-oriented, excelling in content where you can consistently use direct damage abilities.
- Order’s Wrath remains more universal – if your build uses a mix of direct damage and DoTs, or if you play multiple roles, Order’s Wrath offers better overall value.
- For dedicated Arcanist DPS players or anyone running direct-damage-focused rotations, Tide-Born Wildstalker can outperform Order’s Wrath in the right scenarios.
3. Heartland Conqueror
The Heartland Conqueror set takes a unique approach by boosting your weapon traits rather than providing direct stat bonuses. This makes for some very interesting approaches to combat (double precise trait values) or even an effective means to farm XP and level up quickly (double training trait). The Heartland Conqueror set requires 7 traits to craft and is made at Sariellen’s Sword in Blackwood (Blackwood Chapter required).

Heartland Conqueror
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(3 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(4 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
(5 items) Increase the effectiveness of your Weapon Traits by 100%. This does not effect Ornate or Intricate traits.
What Makes it Good:
- The 5-piece bonus increases your weapon trait effectiveness by 100%, making traits like Precise, Sharpened, and Training dramatically more powerful.
- Requires 7 traits to craft and is made at Sariellen’s Sword in Blackwood (Blackwood Chapter required).
- Extremely popular for Infinite Archive runs, XP farming, and leveling new characters thanks to its synergy with Training weapons.
- Also valuable for players using non-gold weapons who want to squeeze more weapon damage or penetration from imperfect gear.
- Consider this set when you’re farming content repeatedly or want flexibility across multiple weapon setups.
4. Mechanical Acuity
Mechanical Acuity delivers burst damage windows rather than consistent bonuses, rewarding players who can plan their rotations around its powerful proc condition. The Mechanical Acquity set requires 6 traits to craft and is made at the Pavilion of Artifice in Clockwork City (Clockwork City DLC required).

Mechanical Acuity
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
(3 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(5 items) When you deal non Critical Damage, you gain a stack of Mechanical Acuity for 4 seconds, granting you 20% Critical Strike chance per stack, up to once every 1 second and stacking up to 5 times. Upon reaching max stacks or after the effect ends, this effect cannot occur again for 25 seconds.
What Makes it Good:
- The 5-piece bonus grants brief windows of nearly guaranteed critical hits (reaching max stacks of critical chance), followed by a cooldown period.
- S-tier for burst DPS in both PvE and PvP, but weaker in long, sustained fights where the cooldown becomes a liability.
- Pairs exceptionally well with burst-ultimate builds and monster sets like Balorgh for devastating burst combos in arenas and battlegrounds.
- Best suited for advanced players who can align their biggest hits with the proc window rather than new players learning rotations.
5. Shattered Fate
Shattered Fate offers ramping power that culminates in strong penetration at the full set level. The ultimate easy mode crafting set, Shattered Fate, lets players craft up to 12 full pieces, meaning you can make your entire build using just this one set! The Shattered Fate set requires 5 traits and is crafted at Artisan’s Hermitage in Apocrypha (Necrom Chapter required).

Shattered Fate
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(5 items) Adds 7918 Offensive Penetration
(10 items) Adds 687 Weapon and Spell Damage
(12 items) Adds 1528 Critical Chance
What Makes it Good:
- The set bonuses build up as you equip more pieces, with the 5-piece bonus providing significant penetration that helps you deal damage through enemy spell resistance and armor.
- An easy-to-obtain dps set ideal for early- and mid-game damage dealers who lack trial gear.
- Strong in PvP as a penetration-focused option and in PvE as a stepping stone before acquiring meta trial sets.
- Pick Shattered Fate over Order’s Wrath for situations where you are severely lacking in Penetration and you may see better performance.
6. Torug’s Pact
Not every build focuses purely on damage output. Tanks, healers, and support roles need crafted sets that enhance survivability, group utility, and resource management. That’s why Torug’s Pact remains one of the most reliable crafted sets for support-oriented builds in ESO.

Torug’s Pact
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 1487 Armor
(3 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(4 items) Adds 1487 Armor
(5 items) Decreases weapon enchantment cooldown by 33% and increases non Oblivion Damage weapon enchantment potency by 45%.
What Makes it Good:
- The key bonuses include extra max health and a major boost to weapon enchantment strength with reduced cooldown on enchantment procs.
- Only requires 3 traits and can be crafted at multiple base game locations: Grahtwood, Stormhaven, and Deshaan.
- Excellent value for beginner tanks and supports, especially in Infinite Archive and dungeon content where enchantment uptime matters.
- Ideal for players running Crusher, Weakening, or status-effect enchants who want to maximize group utility through debuff uptime.
7. Wretched Vitality
Wretched Vitality is one of my favorite crafted sets in ESO for PVP content, or on Solo builds where sustain is difficult. This set gives you amazing sustain bonuses, helping resource-hungry builds maintain their stamina and magicka pools. Wretched Vitality requires 3 traits and is crafted at Stormwright’s Cleft in The Deadlands (Deadlands DLC required).

LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
(3 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(5 items) While in combat, applying a Major Buff or Debuff to a target grants you 260 Magicka and Stamina Recovery for 15 seconds. While in combat, applying a Minor Buff or Debuff to a target grants you 130 Magicka and Stamina Recovery for 15 seconds.
What Makes it Good:
- The 5-piece effect boosts your magicka and stamina recovery whenever you apply buffs or debuffs to allies or enemies.
- Primarily used in PvP support builds where you’re constantly maintaining effects, and in PvE for sustain-heavy healers or solo builds.
- Works well on builds that keep up HoTs, damage shields, and debuffs throughout a fight – the more effects you apply, the more resources you gain back.
- Consider this when you find yourself running out of resources before encounters end or you just want sustain so good that you NEVER need to think about it again!
8. Telvanni Efficiency
Telvanni Efficiency takes a unique approach by enhancing your companion’s performance rather than your own stats directly. Telvanni Efficiency requires 3 traits and is crafted at Tel Hlurag Ven on the Telvanni Peninsula (Necrom Chapter required).

Telvanni Efficiency
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(3 items) Adds 1206 Max Health
(4 items) Adds 1096 Max Magicka
(5 items) While you have a living Companion, reduce the cooldown of their abilities by 50%. While you do not have a living Companion, reduce the cost of your Magicka, Stamina, Health, and Ultimate abilities by 8%.
What Makes it Good:
- The 5-piece bonus reduces companion ability cooldowns, or alternatively reduces your own ability cost when you have no companion summoned.
- Currently the best crafted set for maximizing companion performance in any content type.
- Ideal for solo players who rely on companions to tank, heal, or add aoe damage during questing and arenas.
- The dual function means the set retains value even when you’re in content where companions aren’t available.
9. Clever Alchemist
Clever Alchemist delivers burst stats tied to potion usage, making it a strong choice for burst damage windows, particularly in PVP. The Clever Alchemist set requires 7 traits and is crafted at No Shira Workshop in Hew’s Bane (Thieves Guild DLC required).

Clever Alchemist
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(3 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(4 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(5 items) Adds 1528 Critical Chance
What Makes it Good:
- The 5-piece bonus grants a huge burst of weapon damage and spell damage for a short duration after drinking a potion, plus extra health for survivability.
- One of the strongest crafted PvP sets for burst combos where you want to delete an enemy in a single coordinated hit.
- Can be back-barred (back bar weapons plus 3 more pieces), rather than being active all the time.
- Suits players who track cooldowns closely and can align their biggest hits with potion usage for major berserk levels of burst.
10. Highland Sentinel
Highland Sentinel rewards players who can stand still and deliver sustained damage without repositioning. This is a great set for parsing when you want to see how high your damage can go versus a dummy or encounters where you know you will not need to move around much. Highland Sentinel requires 5 traits and is crafted at Leftwheel Granary in West Weald (Gold Road Chapter required).

Highland Sentinel
LVL 50 – CP 160
SET BONUS
(2 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(3 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(4 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(5 items) While in combat, each second you stand still grants you a stack of Sentinel’s Eye every 1 second, up to 10 stacks. Each stack increases your Critical Chance by 468. Each second you move removes half of your stacks of Sentinel’s Eye, rounded up. Exiting combat removes all stacks of Sentinel’s Eye. Using charge and teleport abilities do not remove stacks of Sentinel’s Eye.
What Makes it Good:
- The main benefit is increased critical chance while standing in place, making it ideal for parse dummy testing and stationary boss fights.
- Popular among players practicing rotations or dealing with fights where movement speed isn’t a factor.
- Best used as a “training set” to learn rotations before transitioning to more universally applicable options.
Other Crafted Sets
Here are a few more crafted sets we recommend for specific builds in ESO.
- Armor Master offers massive armor bonuses when you activate an ability that costs health, synergizing with tanking skills like Igneous Shield. Requires 9 traits and is crafted in Imperial City (Imperial City DLC required).
- Fortified Brass provides flat armor bonuses with no activation condition, making it reliable for tanks who want consistent damage mitigation. Crafted in Clockwork City.
- While these don’t outrank Order’s Wrath and Tide-Born Wildstalker for general use, they’re good starting points for players building dedicated tank characters.
- The Twice-Born Star set from Craglorn also remains a classic option for builds wanting double Mundus Stone effects.
How to Choose the Right Crafted Set for Your Build
The “best” crafted set depends heavily on your content type, class, and playstyle. What works for a solo arena runner won’t necessarily be optimal for a battleground brawler or trial healer. Here’s a simple decision flow to help you pick:
Quick Decision Guide:
- All-rounder DPS or healer → Start with Order’s Wrath. It works everywhere and has low trait requirements.
- Direct damage / Fatecarver-focused PvE → Consider Tide-Born Wildstalker if your rotation is built around hit-based skills rather than oblivion damage over time.
- Leveling or farming Infinite Archive → Heartland Conqueror with Training weapons maximizes your XP gain.
- Burst damage windows in PvP or arenas → Mechanical Acuity or Clever Alchemist for timed burst combos.
- Tanking or group support → Torug’s Pact for enchantment uptime, Wretched Vitality for sustain, or Armor Master for raw mitigation.
- Companion-focused solo play → Telvanni Efficiency to reduce companion cooldowns.
Build Mixing Strategy:
- Mixing one crafted set with one dungeon or trial set is a common endgame strategy. For example, run Order’s Wrath as your body pieces and a monster set plus dungeon set on remaining slots.
- Craft multiple sets over time and swap based on encounter requirements—you don’t need to commit to one forever.
- As your game knowledge grows, you’ll recognize when minor force from a proc set beats consistent stats, or when movement speed from other gear outweighs raw damage.
How Crafted Sets Work in ESO (And Why They’re So Good)
Crafted sets are made at special set stations scattered throughout Tamriel. Each station requires you to have researched a certain number of traits on the item type you want to craft: anywhere from 2 to 9 traits needed depending on the set.
- Most crafted sets can be made in light, medium, and heavy armor, plus weapons and jewelry, allowing for tons of possible combinations.
- DLC and Chapter ownership affects which crafting locations you can access. Sets like Order’s Wrath require High Isle, while Tide-Born Wildstalker needs the Seasons of the Worm Cult Content Pass. If you don’t own the DLC or chapter that contains that crafting station, don’t worry! Popular crafted sets are often sold at guild vendors, though obviously at a markup price.
- Crafted sets are ideal for no-trial builds, alt characters, and players who prefer solo or casual group content. You can create a full set yourself or have a guildmate craft it for you.
- Unlike dungeon sets or trial gear, you control exactly which traits, weights, and styles your crafted gear has from the moment you make it.
- The cost to craft is relatively low compared to farming RNG-based item sets, making crafted options perfect for experimenting with new builds.
Improving Your ESO Crafted Gear Setup
Building a strong, crafted gear collection takes time, but the investment pays off across every character you create. The flexibility to craft exactly what you need, down to the right traits, weight, and even armor style, gives crafted sets lasting value even as new content releases. Here are some additional tips to help you along your ESO Crafter’s journey:
- Research traits early. Every character should be researching traits constantly so you can eventually craft sets like Order’s Wrath and Tide-Born Wildstalker yourself. Even Hunding’s Rage (a solid beginner dps set) requires 6 traits to be researched per piece!
- Join a trading or crafting guild. Guildmates with 9 traits researched can craft high-requirement sets for you, and some guilds have attuned crafting stations in their guild halls for convenient access to any crafted set at any time (huge time saver)!
- Experiment with different armor weights. A magicka set build might run 5 light / 1 medium / 1 heavy for balanced stats, while stamina DPS might prefer 7 pieces of medium armor for improved weapon damage and critical damage bonuses.
- Test different weapon types and enchants. The same set performs differently with an infused staff versus a precise dagger – understanding these interactions helps you optimize.
- Check patch notes regularly. This guide reflects the current meta, but ZeniMax frequently adjusts set bonuses and also adds new sets to the game. When the effect ends on a previously strong set, be ready to adapt.
